I'm starting to worry that today will be yet another missed opportunity for rain.
First area has all but completed fizzled on approach.
Will we recover enough to get another shot later?
Nope, I've been to games that have lasted 19 innings and was thrilled.
Those who cry about extra innings aren't true fans to me. It's part of what makes baseball special. You show up at the park knowing you might be out in 2 hours or 12. Nothing will change my mind about that. (though I understand where you're coming from)
I despise it with all my might. I hate the DH in the NL as well, but that's not as important to me as preserving the integrity of the game. The extra inning nonsense is infuriating.
Phillies are abysmal defensively. I mean like really bad. I didn't realize how bad they were until Saturday night. They're brutal. Pitchers don't have a chance.
That game was a shame. Wheeler pitched his a** off.
So the weather station at MU has officially been at or above 90 for 7 straight days (6 here) and they haven't recorded 8 days in a row since the 1990s. We'll see what tomorrow brings. My point and click for here is 86...
Out of my 20 days at or above 90, most of them were on the lower end of the 90s until the last few. 95, 97, and now 98 today (so far) has been more impressive.
@paweather - we will be leaving for Philly in the next hour. I hope you have a great night and I hope the Phillies win for you. I obviously don't care that much but I do understand how it feels to go watch your team lose.
I've had that experience hundreds of times over the years.
You're likely out of the running for 90s on Monday, but with my anticipated slowing down of the cold front, east folks have a pretty decent chance now.
