  1. Easy answer - I'll never ever forget the great drought of April 1988. Orioles started the year losing their first 21 games in a row. I don't have records nor do I recall such a prolonged dry spell during this part of the year. Never.
  2. (1/2) Northern MD and York, Adams, Lancaster, and Chester Co's have been placed in the "Moderate Drought" category on today's U.S. #drought monitor. After another warm and dry day tomorrow with highs in the 80s, a cold front will trigger showers and #thunderstorms on Saturday.. (2/2) The front should traverse northern PA and southeastern PA from west-to-east late Saturday afternoon into Saturday night. Due to limited moisture and instability, the #severeweather threat appears low, but I expect a widespread 0.5-1.0" of much-needed rain!
  3. My forecasted high has already been lowered from 80-84 down to 74-78 for today. That doesn't happen often.
  4. Sounds like a reprise is in order here: Who can hit the 90s? When no one else comes close? Make it so emphatic that it happens more than once - The Canderson can Oh, the Canderson can... The Canderson can cause he lives in the hotbox That downtown Harrisburg is
  5. Skeptical but hopeful - burned so many times with both snow and rainfall maps, most recently last weekend. Do think this weekend has promise but I'm jaded right now...
  6. There was a decent part of the county (mainly SW of MU) that had even less than that. My office location was under .5" for the season.
  7. Less than 25% of the previous all-time record for futility. That is nuts.
  8. Sunny and 62 here...also: The latest measurable snowfall on record at @millersvilleu occurred on #April19, 1983. With no snow on the horizon, I can officially say that the 2022-2023 winter season is now the least-snowy on record! Only 0.9" of snow fell, shattering the previous record of 4.0" in 1949-1950.
  9. Deal of the day! Only $5/month to learn all about spring forst!
  10. After a precipitous drop last evening, the temp really leveled off after this post. Only dropped one more notch to 35 overnight.
  11. A look ahead: https://www.millersville.edu/weathercenter/forecasts/weather-discussion.php
  12. I saw a picture from Kane this morning - nice little dusting of snow up there. Haven't seen that strange substance down here since January...
  13. 49 degrees at 12:10pm. This is the spring high school sports weather I remember for many years in the past.
  14. A nice refreshing change of pace from last week! Driving home from work yesterday the sky was dark and grey and I sort of got lost in thought thinking I was on 322 west...
  15. Looks and feels like a Penn State football gameday. Sort of wish it was November...
  16. I remember singing that song until I fell asleep as a teenager in the 1970s. I was ecstatic that they resurrected this a few years ago. My wife said "that's the song you've sung for the past 30 years." Love it!
  17. Per last hourly obs, MDT was 22mph G37mph. At Lancaster winds were 4mph.
  18. Can confirm - we had a light shower very early Saturday morning. Since then...bone dry. Not a drop.
  19. Today is what spring should be, in my opinion. Perfect day unfolding.
  20. Still a mild 54 here currently...though the winds have increased and it feels quite pleasant out there today.
