  1. This is in all likelihood the last "real" opportunity of the season. We can say "no way, no how, no chance, etc." and likely be right, or we can say "why not? It's something to at least track and watch for over the coming days." It's a long time until we track again. Might as well stay invested while we can.
  2. Yes - I was able to confirm after reading @sauss06 and your posts that I was a day off - I thought it was a Saturday/Sunday deal but it didn't start until Sunday. I had a few hours of mixed precip Sunday night before winding down as all snow on Monday. Our daughter was 17 months old and I just found a picture of her sitting at our patio door with the snow towering above her in the background as it had drifted several feet high against the door.
  3. Interesting, thank you for that. I really do need to check my book when I get home. Now that you mention it I think I might have had sleet as well. And maybe that's my memory of the storm being disjointed. I will say that for whatever reason, my memory of that storm isn't nearly as sharp as storms that came years before that. I have very vivid memories going all the way back to Feb. 1983. I do remember the Blizzard of 1978 but the details are fuzzy. Of all of our big snowstorms since 1978 my recollection of 2003 is the worst. No idea why that is.
  4. New Jersey centric, but I always enjoy referring to this website: https://www.raymondcmartinjr.com/weather/2003/17-Feb-03.html
  5. I clearly remember the storm being disjointed in some way. It was not a wall to wall continuous snowstorm. It definitely had 2 parts. I need to go read Raymond Martin's synopsis.
  6. I indirectly mentioned this last week - there was a day when it seemed like everything had flipped towards a "springlike feel." Doesn't mean winter's done, but as you said...it became obvious one day last week that the inevitable was coming soon.
  7. Thanks for this Jon. I need to check my own data when I get home. I sort of think that I had at least some snow on Saturday as well - the storm was a 2 part deal and part 1 was mainly south of us. I guess it's possible that I caught a little of wave 1 that might have missed you before the motherload came starting Sunday morning. I want clarity on this!
  8. President's day storm 2003 was awesome - I measured 28" in Elizabethtown making it my 3rd biggest snow in my lifetime, trailing 1996 and 2016. Snowed the entire weekend. 55 was my high yesterday. This morning is the first morning on 2025 that I came to work with no jacket at all. This cold weather fan isn't complaining too much...
  9. Thank you. I went against what I always do when I'm around other people. I learned (very painfully) years ago that jokes tend to hurt others while humor is often self-inflicted. I have zero problems making fun of myself. None. In fact, I think that most who sit in my development classes respect me because of that. I like to make myself small in order to make others feel big. "A Day In The Life" is sort of a departure of that - although I typically make fun of myself as well. 25 was my morning low.
  10. Sunshine and 33 at 11:30am. Feels good outside. All eyes on the first week or so in March. Let's pull this one in.
  11. If Philly gets less than 0.8" of snow for the remainder of the season they will finish behind Pensacola FL.
  12. GFS is uninspiring through it's entire run this morning. Big east coast low to close out the first week of March that slips east of us but would have likely been a rainer anyway. There is no one talking about LR threats in the MA sub either. I think partly because a lot of people are jaded by this week's epic miss and well...there just isn't much looking forward to see.
  13. Circling back to this post from yesterday - I'm not ready to let go of winter just yet. Although...my forecast for next week includes at least 4 days with highs at or above 50. Can't say I'm not looking forward to that.
  14. Low of 23 overnight in Maytown. Drove through 2 separate snow showers on my way to work this morning.
  15. Wife sent me a picture from home - looks like about that much in Maytown. Just a trace down this way. I'll go with your measurement for the books!
  16. I was thinking about that last night. Maybe we get the goods from a less than stellar look/pattern?
  17. Graduated from flurries to a bona fide snow shower here in Conestoga.
  18. Yeah, I think that's part of the equation. Recent model runs weren't kind to us.
  19. Interesting that you say that about the group being sad - I don't know why but today feels different. While there are still weeks of opportunity left to enjoy wintry weather, the realization really hit me this morning that we're turning a corner towards spring. (also interesting that I felt this at a time it was in the teens) The posts are far fewer today which sort of matches the transition we often see as winter starts to slowly fade away. This is not me punting. Just sharing that today feels different.
  20. OBX (north of Hatteras Island) checks in with two separate events of 6"+ for the winter. Remarkable. And I believe this was a top #10 event every recorded at VA Beach?
  21. I feel for the snow peeps down south - Richmond is still under 1" and radar isn't inspiring for them. It kind of looks like the only warning level snows might be confined to the Hampton Roads area...we'll see.
