  1. Last winter delivered the goods post Christmas! February sucked, but the rest was rockin, deep into spring!
  2. Eric Webb‏ @webberweather 1h1 hour ago Whatever legitimate warm-up was supposed to occur after this week especially near the end of November into early December is progressively going down right the drain & may be limited to a day or two/ the half-width of a s/w ridge in the north-central US & southern Canada
  3. Warmup Cancel Eric Webb: As others alluded to, in just 4 runs, the EPS completely flip-flopped over the NE Pacific. Any hopes for a quick warm-up/moderation in the E US quickly went down the drain w/ these earlier runs. Once again we find ourselves settling back into an all too familiar +TNH/-EPO pattern https://t.co/EszgHsHOxu
  4. Yes, the rain this weekend in NoVA was unreal, waves of torrential downpours day and night. Parts of Alexandria alread inundated by the Potomac.
  5. Is DC/NoVA not a good place to evacute to?
  6. The air temperature barely touches 90 if at all, but I have rarely felt it feel so oppressive in the Triad
  7. For all the hype over this week’s return of summer, for the Triad, the 90s last only two to four days. And low 90s at most. It’s hard to say precisely how many 90s because the peak highs will be 89-92, this week. Nothing major, then back into mid 80s by weekend.
  8. The official low temperature in Charlotte, NC this morning was 56 degrees - just ONE degree shy of tying the 130 year old record of 55 degrees set in 1888. So the models last week were right!
  9. I don't know what to root for anymore. Last year, everyone said the purported La Nina was bad news for winter lovers, but it was a bonanza winter of memorable cold and snow for the Triad.
  10. While the Triad has been plenty humid this month, the highest air temperature has been 92, with most of the month now behind us. Not bad for August. We haven't been above 92 in a month, and 95 is the hottest of the year thus far.
  11. Looks like widespread 50s for lows in North Carolina/Virginia by the end of next week.
  12. Joe Bastardi‏Verified account @BigJoeBastardi 2h2 hours ago The coming heat wave is likely to have few record highs but is still a big deal. Its just that the hysteria whipped up yesterday by GFS does not look to be the case Its backed off and much more like Euro ensembles
  13. No real heat in sight for Carolinas and Virginia.
  14. Eric Webb‏ @webberweather May 22 After a possible brief hiatus from rain/storms late this week, a firehose of very deep, rich tropical moisture on the east side of #90L will be aimed at the SE US coast & Carolinas in time for Memorial Day and could remain entrenched thru the rest of May. Time to get a boat #ncwx
  15. Allan Huffman‏ @RaleighWx 29m29 minutes ago April in 2017 was the warmest in 132 years in Raleigh. 2018 was 9 degrees colder and the 21st coldest in 132 years. Coldest since 1997 #ncwx
  16. If we can contain sustained heat to June, July, and August, I am happy.
  17. Really warm this midweek, but after that, not so much into mid May.
  18. Brad Panovich: Clearly we aren't doing Spring this year. #cltwx #ncwx #scwx
