    CLT is at 81 degrees this hour, the only major observation station in the 80s in the state. GSO and RDU are at 73. It seems CLT has been consistently warmer than other Piedmont stations for months now. What is going on at CLT?

    With the beginning of fall, average highs now dip into the 70s, average lows drop into the 50s. Actual temperatures will soon comply.

    For all the hype about the return of summer, this warmth has been lackluster. Today it reached a high of 82 in the Triad, which is the normal high.
