  1. 97-98 had 0.5" until a surprise 5" snowfall in late March, preventing that winter from having the record lowest snowfall.
  2. lol at cherry blossoms? I know there are a few varieties that can have a 2nd bloom in fall if the conditions are right, but Jan? I'd think the sun isnt strong enough yet regardless of temp. hit 69, went on a bike ride, felt great albeit it windy at times. Sat under a southern magnolia tree and for a sec felt like I was in South Carolina lol
  3. lol I was wondering where the hell did it go. Vanished at the Hudson river. Does look like just north of the city may of got a little something. At the GWB though it just fell apart. Temp is 66 but dewpoint falling into the 50s, with a few breaks in the clouds.
  4. Brilliant sunshine! Up to 60. If the sun stays out we'll past forecast temps very soon.
  5. Didnt expect so much sunshine today. Perhaps a sign of an overperforming warm up this wkend?
  6. DCA: +4.3 NYC: +4.5 BOS: +2.2 ORD: +1.2 ATL: +1.7 IAH: +0.3 DEN: -1.4 PHX: -2.9 SEA: -3.0
  7. That was pretty new too in co op city, just outside Bay Plaza. Did the massive digital billboard next to it fall too? I'm outta town now but obs show a windy day there. Had to go to New Orleans. Got away from the (not so) cold. Had one and a half days of near record temps approaching a humid 80, its back to some 50s now.
  8. Hazy sun, 58. Warm up exceeding forecasts today, as it frequently does.
  9. 54.. Its quite hazy out, looking west the air looks espically horrible toward NJ. A brown haze over Hudson Yards and into Jersey, Im actually high enough above it to see it below.
  10. Yeah snow shower here now too and sticking to pavement, unlike the more dramatic snow squall
  11. In my college days in the midwest it wasnt uncommon. Its like a winter version of a severe t storm. Driving 70mph under sunshine into a blizzard with no warning can cause some insane pileups. Lower manhattan is under it now.
  12. I was a little suprised too at how down by JFK reporting more icy conditions, until the ENE winds hit me in the face, I thought wind must be lining up with the Sound up here. Also, there is a little ice when you go high enough up lower manhattan high rises.
  13. Wow wheres that? I saw nothing like that, at least when I left at 730am. Looks like in one of the large Parks like Van Courtlandt?
  14. 32 in the bx and rain. No ice except on some trees and I only notice b/c I'm really looking for it.
  15. yes indeed...looks like snow in the light, feels like rain on my forehead. LGA reporting rain and snow, 40
  16. Dec 92 noreaster was a significant early memory for me. Kinda blew my mind back then.
  17. ABC 7 summer outlook calls for summer to be on the dry side and temps above normal.
  18. I was waiting for the Bronx one. It'll be interesting to compare to. I'm on the other side of the NYBG, just under 2 miles SE of Lehman.
