Large junkyard fire in Hunts Point. South wind is sending smoke and hazy skies miles north at least to Westchester county line, esp on the Yonkers/Mt Vernon side. Teterboro is offically reporting Smoke and 76* Smoke/Haze here, 75 with chemical smokey smell in the air

I notice its not that uncommon to see that. More in July and August though. You see it at DCA too (but not today).

Hempstead closed their beaches. Also reportedly a woman was killed in a shark attack in Maine today.

It really did..but its sounded like that for over a month now so it kind of wore out its welcome for me tbh.

I had to go to midtown today, first time I've been in Manhattan in months. Its kind of a different world down there in terms of social distancing, much more lax attitude..not FL level, but its still a different vibe. I think there is less people personally affected by covid compared to the other boros. So many people have died up here its still a terrifying thing to alot of people.
