From how it sounds, Michigan's school's reopenings are gonna go on without any changes, concerning considering the average is still creeping up

What would you estimate the mask prevalence to be at your store? If it's 80-90% or more, that is pretty good and would have dimishing returns beyond that point. Not like we are talking about a solar eclipse, where there is indeed a big difference between what it's like at 99% and 100%
60%, just under half refuse them at the door or pretend to wear it then take it off once shopping

I thought the mask mandates were going to help numbers go down?
Issue is the stores aren't enforcing them, we have to offer a mask but if the customers refuse the big companies won't let us refuse service.

Worrying how Michigan's cases seem to be steady in the 6 to 7 hundred range every day (except Sunday which is always underreporting)
-
Michigan still hovering around 700 new cases a day

Governor Whitmer to speak tomorrow, hoping she takes us back to stage 3

Michigan reported over 1000 cases today, some from yesterday reported late, but still means our weekend average is WAY up

Yeah there protocols are good on paper, but there are countless pictures and videos online of the exact opposite occurring down there.
This. Because they make you wear a mask at the entrance but stop giving a hell the second you're in and are spending money.

I’m not sure what good these mask mandates do when stores don’t enforce it. I was in Kroger last night, where they not only have a company mask mandate, but KY has a statewide one as well. Signs on the door stating masks required to enter. Low and behold I saw a few shoppers and even store employees (including the security guard) not wearing masks. Didn’t even have one pulled down around their necks. Of course no manager / employee was enforcing it. It’s about time to start handing out fines to those that refuse to comply with mandates. No warning, either. We should be past the stage of begging the fools to please wear a mask until further notice.
Kroger employee here, they won't let us enforce it because all the states who passed the mask mandates also added a "medical exemption" clause, so everyone who doesn't have a mask on is claiming they have some magical disease where a mask will kill them. We might be forcing people to bring in proof soon because of that.

I’m sorry to hear that man. That must be incredibly frustrating for you.
If masks only protected the person wearing them, the whole “individual freedom” component would be 100% understandable. But masks protect the people *around* you.People dont either dont get that or dont care which is the most infuriating part.
We all have to wear them and do in the hope they'll keep us safe, and still five of us have gotten sick

People not who are not wearing mask masks are coming in my lane.
This. I work in a grocery store five days a week and we just opened up the bottle room, their "individual freedom" doesn't give me or any of us a choice.

As always we can only control ourselves, and that’s a beautiful thing. I respect your decisions and approach to this virus.
But be nice to your fellow man. Nothing from Jonger has shown me he’s anything other than a normal dude passionate about weather. He’s neither uneducated nor dumb. He has an opinion that differs from yours.
That’s what makes it all turnI'm sorry but when other peoples decision's put everyone elses health at risk they need to be called out on it. Look at the explosion in cases in Florida and the giant outbreak that bar in East Lansing caused.
