  1. I like going by the criteria that makes it seem further away On the other hand, Summer starts on June 1st...
  2. It came on way too fast. If this was February I wouldn't mind. I'd gladly take 60s right now.
  3. I thought we were going to torch this month as well, especially coming off such a warm October. I'm surprised I saw anything frozen today.
  4. Nah, the other night looked promising, but clouds ended up getting in the way. 34 is my lowest temp so far.
  5. It's a shame because we had very nice color here, but it didn't last long and a lot of trees thinned out early. Not bad though considering the rough start. Like I said in the interior forum, my first hard freeze usually comes in strong, and this year is no exception. Friday's low is forecasted to be 23° currently.
  6. Congrats buddy. Defintely great weather to enjoy your first family moments outside the hospital.
  7. It seems I always go big with my first hard freeze and hit the 28 mark. The clouds really got in the way of things this time around though. Only hit 34.
  8. Yeah, Spearfish has the most rapid temperature change ever recorded. In just two minutes it went from -4° to 45°. Loma, Montana has an incredible record as well, where it went from -54° to 49° in 24 hours. That's a 103° change! Can't forget Browning, Montana where it dropped from 44° to -56° in a day. Montana also holds the record for coldest temperature in the lower 48, which is -70° at Rogers Pass.
  9. Yeah the trees that are still green almost look like they did during the Summer lol. Unfortunately anything with color took a big hit.
  10. Same thing happens to me Jim on my Android. Never get it on the iPad though.
  11. That was the year where the Boston area had that massive glacier in an empty lot (they trucked snow there from the metro because it was building up too much) that lasted into July. I posted about it awhile back. It was an incredible season for snow and cold.
  12. That's true. Even small towns have ridge/valley sections along with mountains, which can really effect the temps.
  13. Yep, I said this in the other thread. I'm right at climo for first frost. Killing Freeze usually comes sometime in November.
  14. Oh I didn't know that. I assumed the trees liked a little moisture, not flooding rains of course.
  15. The dryness didn't help either. A lot of trees turned brown and the leaves were as crunchy as could be. Certainly feels like October out there. Big change from last weeks heat and humidity.
  16. Monday night looks pretty cold for the metro, my forecast low is 36. Tuesday also looks seasonable, which is chilly compared to what we've been experiencing. This is only a blip in the pattern though. The weekend will be AN, with Sunday potentially making a run for 80 in spots. After the cool down it looks to warm back up as well, and the long range GFS (I know I know) seems to support this. As has been the trend since 2015, expect temps to over-perform and cold shots to be transient.
  17. Well the Dallas loss was a heartbreaker to say the least.
  18. Definitely early here, although our one Dogwood has been dropping leaves since late August. It has something to do with that particular tree though, since the other Dogwood is green and healthy.
  19. That's winter weather. Can't believe it can even get that cold so early in September. I could understand in the Adirondack's or Catskills maybe.
  20. Yeah, I mean it depends when you watch as well. During certain time slots, especially during the winter and severe season, they bring on more experts etc. and show more analysis.
