  1. My forecast was 13. The last couple of days have actually been sneakily cold IMO. Looks like a wet and mild weekend ahead.
  2. Couldn't agree more, don't want people just getting into the hobby to be misinformed.
  3. Lol the freezing lines at the surface and 850mb essentially cut right through MBY.
  4. Absolutely. I don't like that method at all. I think it's more "natural" to take one measurement at the end of the event and call it the storm total snowfall.
  5. February is usually when I get "excited" about our snow chances. As CP mentioned in the other thread, this region has a high concentration of snowfalls that occur during the Feb. timeframe. However, it's also a short month, and by March we all know that Spring is just around the corner. This weeked looks quite "torchy" with highs for many of us potentially reaching 50° or greater.
  6. Lol, well at least Mt. Holly put out a Special Weather Statement for icy conditions tonight.
  7. @rgwp96 I remeasured later on and got 2.1", which makes sense since when I took the first observation it continued to snow for a couple of hours (albeit lightly). Have to watch out for that layer of ice under everything too, very slick. Definitely disappointed with the totals, however like others have said, the scenery afterwords was nice. I'm amazed that we still haven't had a 6"+ snowfall yet.
  8. @rgwp96 Measured 1.75" at 8:40am with an icy layer underneath.
  9. I miss the days of the 287 cutoff regarding significant accumulations for the Jersey crew. Curious to see where the "threshold" will setup this time.
  10. Yeah that place is always windy. Been up there a few times. Walpack and the valley locations may get to double digits below zero if the winds calm down.
  11. Yeah, if we can get conditions to go clear and calm then the spots that typically radiate well will drop like a rock. 3.5° now.
  12. I was stuck around 5 and 6. Winds were roaring throughout most of the night. My forecast low is still -1, and if winds can really go calm maybe I can beat that.
  13. My high was 17. Really feels like a tundra out there with the snow drifts and wind chills. I'm definitely ready for 50s at this point lol.
  14. Haha. Well I grew up around drag racing and in that realm automatics are superior. Much faster and consistent. However, when it comes to road carving in a sports car, a stick is always nice.
  15. And that's one area where a mechanical clutch outshines hydraulic. Or just get an automatic
  16. This was a nice little storm for those of us North and West of the city. Merry Christmas.
  17. Yeah I saw your Spotter Obs. on Mount Holly's page. Nice scenery when the sun started to come through the clouds earlier this morning.
  18. Merry Christmas everyone. Beautiful morning with 1.5" out there.
  19. I still ride my BMX bike from when I was a kid. Very good exercise. Had a really light dusting of snow last night, not even enough to measure.
