    Winter might be over

I think that's pretty much it.  After this first week of March, how much time do we really have left to see a noteworthy event (at least 3-6")?  Higher terrain will definitely have more of a chance.

Despite only having about 3 inches more than the 19-20 winter IMBY, this one felt a lot better.  We definitely had more cold, and what snow we did have ended up sticking around because of it.

I don’t get the whole mid March is too late, climo sucks ect. I got a massive 2 foot blizzard in mid March 2018, which was just a few years ago…. Yeah temps are often an issue, but with March storms you also often will have more moisture available so it’s kind of a double edged sword there. If the setup is good, some of the biggest storms happen in March.

Unless you're somewhere else, the metro got that big storm on March 7-8th, not mid-month.

I also don't think anyone is claiming it can't snow in mid-March.  We can get a 6+ inch storm in April for that matter.

Point is, after the equinox in just over a month, the chances of accumulating snow are drastically reduced.  Between now and then is when we'd need to boost totals to average or better to make this a decent season.

  3. Exactly 15 inches so far this season.  After the Thursday washout, we really only have about 4 weeks of good snow climo, as that brings us near the equinox.

Obviously it can snow afterwards, but even our better March's tend to shut off around then.

5 currently. This January has had more single digit low temps for my house than I can remember; lasting cold spell. Past winters I have dipped sub-zero, but quickly bounced back with the temps.

I was just thinking this last night.  Lot of single digit lows, and also a lot of highs sub 25, some of which failed to hit 20.

Got down to 9 here-another night of single digits....cold month.

Despite what little snow we've seen, it's been pretty cold.  More single digit nights than we've had the last couple winters here.

Not only that, but there hasn't been a thaw yet.  The snow cover is minimal but has stuck around pretty well.

Everytime I go to walgreens there are different people working there

Yeah I mean it's not surprising.  Everyone is burned out from trying to give vaccines on top of normal workload, which is already bad this time of year.

They need to add an appropriate reaction I can use for this post.  It's not funny.  It's not sad.  It's infuriating.

Honestly, no one knows the half of it.  This whole thing has made me rethink getting into retail pharmacy.

People have no clue how much actually goes into typing up prescriptions, verifying them, giving shots, phones ringing, checking in orders, etc.  You can't find technicians to help out either, no one wants to apply.  I mean we see sick people all day, who knows if it's covid or not?  There's a lot of illness going around besides covid though, I can tell you that.

The thing that annoys me though is that people still complain about wait times, hold times, and if things aren't ready when they just were at the doctor a half hour ago.  You want to come fill it yourself, or do you want quality and accuracy?

People have no respect for retail workers general, but you'd think on the pharmacy side it'd be better.  Everyone is overworked and many pharmacists in the district are leaving at an alarming rate.

    Peaked my interest with 17/18.

Probably my 4th favorite winter of all time.

56 inches total snowfall with 28 falling from March onwards.

    Early season snowfall.

Great warmth for hearting savings and outdoor activities.

Yeah that was definitely a good season for backend snow.  Spring was definitely welcomed after that.

This cool down is down to 3 days. That is the funny thing after all that.

Tues thru Friday look down right warm

It does get warmer this week but it'll be different than the last few days.  Lows will be a little more seasonable and plus the dewpoint will not be in the 60s like today.

no one buys a copy of the almanac if it says warm/snowless...cold and snow sells so they go with that every year like JB does

Very true, look back at 18-19 and 19-20, I guarantee Accuweather was calling cold and snowy.

my house temp was 83.4 this afternoon the a/c needed to be turned on.  No way no how would I -EVER- open the windows the allergens are awful and humidity is my mortal enemy.  If I could invent an antimatter bomb to annihilate all humidity I would do so in a heartbeat.

Wow, how did it get up to 83 in the house?  It's 73 in ours and we haven't run any AC in weeks.

upton says it will be pushed south by high pressure developing over NE

Yeah I guess we have to see.  Seems like there are some breaks out west in PA.  Clouds keeping temps lower than expected.

Finally able to get back on the GOES website.  It was down for awhile.

Is it supposed to pull north and give us some breaks of sun?  Stuck at 62 here which is really underperforming.
