The winters have sucked ever since I changed my name from Metsfan to Snow.
Might have to change it back next winter
Lol only 1 change in a 30000 day period.

I am still waking up early to check the models to see if they show any snowstorms on the horizon. What a disaster this winter is.
Worst winter ever for me
Lol get your sleep bud, not worth your health. This winter is done.

Very good stat Uncle, and it confirms my earlier sentiments that this year has lacked days with cold high temperatures.

PAC air has completely dominated the pattern....
Imagine going the month of February without any snow at all.

The amazing part about this winter is the number of days with lows above freezing. Another one last night, and another tonight.
I'm also surprised at the lack of cold highs too (sub 30).

The mode might be even more useful....what is the most common snowfall in an event, and what is the most common total for the winter....
IMO the mode is better suited for a situation such as trying to find what item at your candy shop sells the most.
In terms of snow, it may not be the best. For example, imagine a city has the following snowfall amounts in the last 10 years...21, 21, 54, 36, 41, 45, 48, 33, 28, 39. Those two dud years would make the most common total 21 inches, whereas the average is 36 inches. The real problem though is that when seasonal totals are reported to the decimal, it would be even less likely that two years would repeat the same exact number.

Without a doubt, crap weather right through May.

I honestly cannot remember a winter with this many gloomy days. So ready for this to be over.
Since at least Fall 2018 we have been stuck in this horrible overall pattern of grayness. A start to finish blue sky day is a rarity.

Only if you are north of 84 in a pattern like this.
Exactly, even here we have had no accumulating snow in weeks, forget the city.

Make up for the whole season what? Total snowfall?
My point is simple, those who enjoy winter around here want cold temps and long periods of snow cover. Have we had that this season? Of course not, and so even if March is a rockin month that won't make this an A grade winter.

As in all things in life Ant, you NEVER give up. Never...
If you live in the city especially, this winter is pretty much toast. March can't make up for the whole season. That'd be like having a cool and wet JJA with terrible beach weather and then hoping September corrects it with 90's and sun.

daffodils are pushing through the ground here. No ice on any lakes, even the parking lot piles from the 1/18 event are going fast....just no sign of winter at all...
If it weren't for that nice December event, I would only have a few inches...

this might be ewr's first january without a day below freezing. 1973, 1989, 1998, 2002, 2006, and 2007 all had at least one
That would be absolutely incredible.

Mine is an auto. All LT1's had autos that year. Just couldn't afford an LT4 six-speed or else I would've snatched one up.
BTW, flirting with 60* here.
Yeah it's what you can afford. The LT1 is a workhorse but the Optispark is a b**ch. Eventually want to do a 600+ hp LS3 build or a boosted Coyote.

Yes. That is mine. It is a 1996. It's a work in progress as I've got some stuff to repair/restore, with the biggest being a new coat of paint. She looks a lot better in the pictures than in person. All for $4,000.
Nice, I have an affinity for the LT1/LT4 engine. My Dad still has his 1994 Camaro which is actually what got me into cars years ago when I was younger.

58* here so far. I think ill take off the roof and do some cruising when I get home before throwing the cover on for all this rain later in the week. And pray that the Subie will start.
Is that Corvette yours? I have a newer 5.0 Mustang but am going to trade for an F-150 soon. If only I could have both

No thanks, I still have the regular fever.
I noticed this year is bad for coughs and fevers. I had a fever for five days going back around the New Year. Lot of people sick this year, and the hygiene is terrible. People need to learn to cover better, and wash their hands after being in public spaces.

My precip total was .11 and a trace of snow by my house but on top of the hill behind Lowe’s grassy areas had .25-.50 ( well at the party I was at up there )And yes we missed most of the heavier echoes . It did snow for awhile but just didn’t stick especially in lower spots of town
Interesting. I'd say .25" here too. What are you on the season?

1.5" here. Roads were covered.
That's impressive considering how things have gone thus far. Between this morning and tonight I measured nada. The colder surfaces, including grass, had a very light coating of saturated wet snow that I did not even bother to measure.
Did you see something that I didn't @rgwp96? Seems like places south and west of us got under better banding.

Wet snow here for the last 1.5 hours or so. Sticking to colder surfaces but not enough to measure.

Well that's not bad compared to other areas. I'm barely over a foot. You and the HV folks cashed in on a lot of smaller events where I got nothing but maybe some flakes flying.
Tomorrow is March, and next week turns wet and mild again. This winter has been such a disappointment, and that's coming from me, someone who lives for the heat of summer.
