This winter felt very short to me, but whatever, it appears to be over.

61 here. Winter is dead to me. I have shifted mentally to spring mode now. Melt it all.

Full on glue season on the slopes. My least favorite conditions.

Light snow in Randolph. I am down in Berlin and it's not doing a thing here, which is typical.

8 and skate baby. I’m already planning my day around 3 when I get in at 630.
I mean it works in some jobs like @Damage In Tolland said.
In an office environment where 90% of the workforce and client base is most active 10-6? It sucks for that.

Did you mean to say .. One of many? I’ve never been able to understand the people that stay up all hours.. knowing they have be up at 4:30-5:00AM.. Just sleepwalking thru the days .. with no quick wit.. and heavy eyes
I have the feeling you are one of those guys full of energy at 6:00 AM who drives everyone nuts but then by 2:30 you are gassed and checked out at work.
I hate dealing with those guys. They get to work at 6, sit around doing nothing until 9 because no one else is there or responding to emails, and then they hit lunch at 10:30 right as the rest of the team is getting rolling. Then after lunch they refuse to start anything new because they are headed home at 2:30. Rinse and repeat the next day. Yup, seen that many times.

I’m a morning person. I’m up at 530am for work. I’m up at 6am on the weekends regardless. It’s healthier for your circadian rhythm to be waking up with the light and going to bed with the dark. That’s one thing Kevin definitely gets correct. I like changing the clocks to adjust for the changing daylight. It’s 1 freaking hour twice per year. How hard is it to adjust? Most people don’t go to bed the same time every night anyway.
Do you get up between midnight and 2 AM to eat and have sex like they did in the Middle Ages, though? They say that's how we used to do things before electric lights. Two sleeps/segmented sleep.

Deer Valley has always been a favorite of mine, but I am probably not looking for the more extreme terrain some of you are seeking.
Always had a good time there.

Yeah, Euro has been good for the weekend for a while now. GFS is slowly looking better it seems. Close to getting the whole mess under NNE.
Hopefully the Euro is on to something and not on something with this one.

WWA for 3-5 here.

12z Euro still advertising a prolonged wet snow event for NNE this weekend and early next week.

GFS laughs at Euro snows for NNE
Yeah it’s a shame it’s only the Euro. That used to mean it was a lock but not anymore. CMC also cuts it under NNE but it’s warmer.

Fruit trees sagging into the snow? Lemon and orange sherbet.

Very snowy Euro run for NNE. Would lead to great spring conditions if it verified.

Speaking of taxes I brought our stuff to a new accountant last week. Come to subsequently find out he’s under indictment. Picked it all up and starting from scratch. About 40 years ago this happened and every file in the office got the line by line audit. Not risking that nightmare again!
New guy appointment next week and he appears clean.
LOL gotta hate when that happens!

Absolutely we just got news the 6400 the IRS insisted we owed them was a mistake on their part. Damn that wore me down. I knew we were right. What a relief but talk about incompetent. Actually got a refund of 534 to boot
Talking to my cpa/tax attorney: Tons of tax “mistakes” and issues this year at the state and fed level. Total incompetence.

Covid numbers are going back up in parts of Europe. Germany in particular has high numbers. Europe has been the canary in the coal mine for the US but hopefully we can hold off a rise in the US until at least summer. Society at large could use some normalcy.
Post this shit in OT dude.

LOL you are right. Many good comments from people on the site. I had never really looked before but your post made me take a look. Great info and data there.

So I remember posting about my wife’s unemployment issue here a few times where the state suddenly was requesting 16k back in unemployment she received in 2020.
After fighting tooth and nail for over a year now she finally got a letter from them admitting they made a mistake and they are not going to be collecting that money.
Absolutely ridiculous, but glad it got sorted out in the end
Do you ever get the feeling everything involving the government is now a battle and their default position is to destroy you and you need to fight to survive? Because it often feels that way to me. Something has changed. The bureaucratic silliness was always there but now there is something malicious and uncaring about it.
edit: this is not meant to be a political post. I am not insinuating this is a recent issue related to any election. It just seems to be a reflection of our increasingly more anti-social and repressive/regressive/closed society.

12z GFS is potent with the clipper later in the week. Really blows it up.

The 2021-2022 Ski season thread
in New England

Wildcat was a good vibe today at least.
Mid-mountain was all glue.
Kinda hard to ski since you end up going very fast in shady areas and then suddenly crashing to a stop in areas with sun.
I did a few runs and bailed. Hopefully it straightens out more after the rainer, but at this rate a warm rainer may close Wildcat down anyway.
