Euro has a SWFE for NNE next weekend. CMC also tries to get it under NNE.
GFS is way north with it.

Tip is the best with storm threads. When he starts a thread, the storm always seems to happen. He sniffs them out based on more than just a rip-and-read of the latest model runs, clearly.

Winds were NW the whole event, not the usual E/SE/NE then switching to NW on the backside. Looking at terrain map you can see how that flow would be pretty brutal there.
Yeah, kind of an unusual setup. I guess it must have just been spitting there all day yesterday. A forecast bust I think because the GYX map had them at 8-12 I think.

Passes don’t work at BW on the weekends so we decided to hit Attitash. Apparently they didn’t get any snow yesterday somehow? If they did get some it was maybe an inch or so. Seems hard to believe they missed that badly. First time there. Conditions were pretty terrible. Also the lift setup there is bewildering and dumb. I know it’s been said before by others here but it was my first time seeing it. The summit triple chair is something else. LOL

We are down in Bartlett and it appears to have not even snowed here? Did the storm jump over them? It’s crazy the difference between here and there.

Damn looks like this ended up being a nice storm in NNE after all. Some of the guidance close in was light on the QPF, so the 10:1 snow maps weren’t impressive. Was it high ratio snow?
Not everyone in NNE did well. I had about 6" of wet snow from the synoptic piece and then a foot of powder on the backside. Anyone who doesn't get NW flow upslope didn't do all that well on this one. Great storm here. Best of the winter.
Hopefully no cutters for a while so I can watch it melt out naturally over the next couple weeks instead of all at once overnight in a torrential downpour.

Seems like a classic "north of the Notches" storm in the White Mountains. I'm down in Salem NH this weekend, but Black Mountain is only reporting 3" of new snow this morning and their measurements are almost always spot on with mine at the cabin. I was helping my girlfriend move into a new house yesterday so I wasn't really watching what was happening up there; not sure if it was a temperature bust or a dry-slotting issue, but that's quite a difference from what Alex and Phin are reporting.
Not really "northern New England" but we had less than an inch here in Salem. Enjoy the powder up north today!! I'll be returning to Jackson tomorrow.
The synoptic piece was kind of meh over here. I had about 6” as that wound down. Then I added a foot of upslope powder on top which of course many areas don’t get. I could see 3-5” at Black Mountain and Cranmore for sure. Wildcat is reporting 9.

What was your final? I woke up around 5a and saw there were still some streamers in your area.
Still seeing 18” out there. May have been a bit more after I went to bed and it settled and blew around but that’s a good enough measurement for me.

Last night dumped another 7-8" up at 1,500ft. Totals around 15-16". There's a lot of snow out there.
Piled up about as fast as I have ever seen it last night for a few hours.

So if any vodka actually is Russian, and obviously whatever profits have already been garnered by whoever in Russia, what is the point of pouring American $$ down the drain?
Makes no sense. It's not like Putin refunds the money if we dump the vodka.
Classic "cut off your nose to spite your face" move. Dumb.

Just measured 18" and headed to bed.

16" now and still crushing. Biggest event of the winter here. The upslope side of this has been epic.

Horrible way to end winter. Mostly rain here.

Yeah, getting very windy here too. This is as good as any storm this winter for sure.
Hopefully BW is getting hammered just like this. Will transform things for the last couple weeks of the season. The main trails should be excellent once this is groomed in. Heavy stuff underneath and a fluff topping.
