Euro is better here than GFS but the latter is still plenty tasty. My spot does well in these marginal events from what I have seen. Could be ugly just down the hill to the east tho.

No thanks...keep the QPF west. Stop trying to flood my chickens. lol
We need this one for the winter sports industry. LOL

The GFS/Euro ops and ensemble means both look good for northern VT and NH.
Hopefully good trends at 12z today.
-
Let's hope the Euro is locked in for the weekend.
Last three runs looked very close to each other and hit northern VT and NH really well.
We are riding the line on this one though.
GFS also looks pretty good.
-
It actually came east from prior runs and GFS is still good here. Won’t take much of a shift for a blue bomb here. I do well in these marginal events.
-
Hopefully I am right on the edge. I mean driving, flooding rain in Gorham and snow up here. Give me 2" precip as snow please.

I feel like the longitudinal gradient is going to get magnified by the terrain. We may struggle to changeover in the foothills while the western slopes cool quickly with the CAA via upslope assist and just poundtown from the first flake.
Rain down there is better for the chickens and the ski resorts, right?

That’s great. Invest in the under represented areas of America and make money doing it. There are still a lot of economies with potential.
And the work ethic is amazing. Folks up here just work. They come in every day and crank out 8-10 hours like it's nothing. I continue to be amazed at the work ethic here every day. Definitely a big motivator for me to make sure staff are taken care of and paid well. The crappy customer service and WFH trends have definitely not hit here yet. People here still take big pride in their work and believe it will lead to bigger things. I love working with people like that and making sure they achieve it. Many of them have deep skills too that they aren't fully using. They know how to handle heavy machinery, dangerous work environments, and high stress like it's nothing.
If anyone out there with investment $$ is listening... Berlin, NH wants to work!

Nice bump east on the gfs. Thats a big run for VT through N&W NH.
That's more like it. Crushed.

State taxes are about to go ballistic in a lot of places. Many will be shocked by the increases.
NH is very business friendly so we are in the process of moving everything up here from MD. We have also been investing in local businesses. It's completely insane how much of a business we can buy in Berlin versus what we can buy in MD for the same money. Our cash reserves make us look like Jeff Bezos up here. I have been telling my friends in blue states down south they need two bring their $$ up here. It goes 10x further than it does in their current NJ/VA/MD shitholes.
MD is going to get a deep blue governor next go round who will surely raise taxes massively to fund shortfalls and "achieve justice for Baltimore" so we are fully headed out before that.

This will be one of those events where it is rain all around me and I am snow at 31.5 degrees.
If it comes in marginal hopefully it brings monster rates and east winds. That's my best chance here.

Oh it's bad. I didn't ski today but there's only so much rain and melt you can have and then freeze it up. At some point grooming machines can't even really do anything about it. There's just so much frozen water... you get like the blue ice bulges in the middle of trails that grooming tillers just bounce off of. It's like trying to cut up pavement.
Yeah, it was clear the groomers basically just busted off ice chunks and scattered them around. That's all they accomplished given the conditions. There were some connector spots between trails that were downright dangerous. Clear sheet ice. Patrol had it well-marked but not sure how they fix that without blowing more snow. That stuff is not softening up to corn snow next time it gets warm. Areas off the manmade trails are totally shot and mostly melted out.
Like I said in the NNE thread, I can't imagine Cannon and Wildcat today. The kind of day that requires a helicopter airlift to the hospital.

We’ll be praying for suppression depression soon. Much rather a fringe job than 1-2” of rainfall.
It was rough at BW today. Worst I have ever seen it. Almost unskiable in spots on their key groomers which I have never seen before. They also look kinda thin to me. I would have needed an ice drilling rig and not J. Spin's measuring pole to check depths, but still. LOL

Ugh... if this ends up another damned rainstorm...

Yeah pretty much. Holding out hope for one last blue bomb to get a couple good days on natural ski trails. This thing for Sat is starting to look like a POS to me.

Another warm rainer in NNE would be lights out for the season. It’s already barely hanging on.

Any torchier than it has been relentlessly since early-Feb

BW crew tried their best I’m sure but man it was bad out there today. They will need to blow some more snow I think to even keep the groomers going in some spots. Most of the connectors between trails are closed or are just total ice rinks. Can’t imagine the horror show at Wildcat or Cannon today.

If that's worse case I'll take it ha. Just want anything to cover up the defunct municipal skating rink look going on outside.
LOL yeah we will all take any snow we can get for sure. But to really make a difference on the slopes we need some good base snow. It’ll get even more treacherous on natural terrain to have this current “base” and then cover it with six inches of deceptive fluff.
-
Yeah models look good for the ski areas right now for Sat. I am always worried about a fringe job though. We need a high qpf bomb here to really make a difference. Not some half inch liquid job that the greens turn into a foot of dust.

Euro 10:1 map is almost 20" here. That would fix some things at Bretton Woods for sure.
