  1. 2.54" Monday, not as much expected today, but we could still crack 3" for the week. Looks like even more heavy rain is possible Sunday-Tuesday.
  2. Yeah that 2019-2020 Winter was awful. We got really lucky with a quick wet 4" snow late in the season down here, but my coldest temperature that entire season was in mid November. It never got truly cold again after that.
  3. I think that happened here in early December around 2008 or 2009. We had a light snow event occur simultaneously with our first freeze. I remember my mom's impatiens were still alive and covered with snow.
  4. Pretty sparse rainfall down here so far. I got 0.46" Sunday morning, but very little since then.
  5. 51.7 IMBY this morning. I was up at Fall Creek Falls Monday and Tuesday. I'm not sure what the low temp was Tuesday morning, but it felt like upper 40's. Excellent running weather.
  6. More than one CAM has a repeat performance tomorrow over Chattanooga. Similar rainfall amounts. Hope that’s wrong.
  7. I posted in the severe weather thread but all good here. 5.64” in my gauge in Apison. Looks like more to come tomorrow.
  8. The worst flash flooding we have had in years is underway right now. 4-6” of rain hit right at rush hour. Cars are floating on I-24 in East Ridge. 5.64” in my gauge.
  9. Is it even in Knox County? I've always pictured it being closer to Maryville than Knoxville.
  10. Finally got a real frog strangler last night. Over 2" of rain between 9-11 PM. Getting hit again this afternoon also.
  11. Finally got lucky with the rain yesterday. Three separate storms and just over an inch of rain.
  12. I still can't catch a break here. This should be the wettest month of the year. We average over 6" in July. Halfway through and I'm at 0.77. And all but 2 days have been 90+ so what little rain we got vaporized quickly.
  13. I still can't buy a raindrop here. Strangely, my only real rain the past three weeks came on a day with zero chance of it. I got a random shower that dropped 0.15" on Sunday. Nothing before and nothing since.
  14. Blanked again. I think that's 5 days in a row of 60% or better POP's and only 0.06 total to show for it. I guess I start watering the lawn tomorrow. First time this year.
  15. Same thing down here. I watched the storms pop up in the same areas three days in a row. Never rained more than a few drops IMBY. Some parts of town got 4"+ and flooding.
  16. I haven't watered at all this year. Not even my planting beds. And I'm cutting my grass every 5 days.
  17. We have many roads closed right now due to flash flooding. I’m betting the Hixson area has had 5” of rain this afternoon. Frequent hail too.
  18. In 2023 we made it to July 1 before we hit 90. This year we may not make it through the first week of April. Friday and Saturday are going to be close. Official forecast is 88.
  19. Athens and Asheville are both just "A" but Athens, GA is ATH. What a strange decision.
  20. I'm a little surprised to not see a high wind warning from MRX for the valley tonight. We appear to be surrounded by them on all sides now. My point forecast mentions gusts to 55 mph, which I believe is well within warning criteria.
  21. This is bordering on the most snow I've ever seen from NW flow here. Granted that isn't saying much, but there is a solid dusting. Usually it's just flurries.
  22. The interstate is turning white in the ooltewah area.
  23. Actually getting flow snow to accumulate down here in some areas this morning. The band orientation is almost due north to south which is limiting the downsloping that usually kills this variety of snow down here.
  24. It’s doing work here. Almost everything is gone even in the grass. Snow in Chattanooga is here for a good time, not a long time.
  25. Getting some redevelopment down here. It stopped snowing about an hour ago, but has started back up again. Not super heavy, just light to moderate.
