  1. As of 8:30am local time, Memphis interstates are completely covered. Fortunately not many accidents reported on the T-DOT map yet.
  2. The farther west you go out towards Bellevue it gets thicker on the roads outside of Nashville.
  3. Nashville seems to be putting up a pretty good fight with scraping the roads. Memphis at this hour, not so much. Just based on the interstate appearance.
  4. I can't believe so many people are out driving in that mess around Nashville. It's piling up on the interstates, I can't imagine the secondary roads.
  5. A video clip I saw from Paris looked like snow was mixing in with the sleet there now.
  6. Friend in Paris says this is starting as sleet despite the p-type radar indicating snow. Edit: RadarScope shows pink, so it's picking up on the sleet.
  7. People are haulin ass on I-65 in that sleet. There have already been several multi-car crashes around Nashville and the show is just barely getting started.
  8. Clicking around on all of them: https://smartway.tn.gov/traffic?features=incident,traffic,cameras,weather&position=35.08322564,-90.01041037,13
  9. It's rippin in parts of Memphis right now and none of it is shown on the HRRR or NAM. Bonus snow!
  10. I vividly remember the pictures of the epic pancake on your porch table. Helluva storm!
  11. You are a got dang walking talking weather encyclopedia man. I'm constantly impressed, that is amazing!
  12. The GFS past few runs has been suggesting we may hit lower to mid 60s later next week. I mean that's camping temps, I'll be getting spring fever soon. I logged several nice dustings this season and am content to move on at this point.
  13. Got an inch in the gauge today. I have to say
  14. I came across this interesting discussion on the geology and geography of the Cumberland Plateau, thought I'd share. https://chuck-sutherland.blogspot.com/2015/11/tennessees-cumberland-plateau.html
  15. Friends and family in Paris said they got an initial round of freezing rain and then a transition to sleet. Enough ice to freeze mailboxes shut and enough sleet to completely cover the roads. Overall not too bad, especially compared to some of the modeling.
  16. Just talked to my folks in Paris. Thunder and rain at 25 degrees, ice is building up. Some sleet now. It's getting nasty.
  17. That GFS looks DGEX level crazy. I'm gonna be over here eating popcorn watching all this unfold. Stay warm west and middle friends and don't break a hip!
