Emmitsburg 37/24 - still looking good for 8+. Driving up in the morning - gonna find me a snowstorm. Given January 2019 relative disappointment around Balt - will be my first legit snow event since Jan 2016. Also, BBQ.
All the crappy snow maps in the last few pages of the thread - maybe someone throw up the GFS life preserver snow map? Mobile and can't see it right now.
If this NAM is right Emmitsburg is not far enough for me to go. May just cancel and stay home, chasing to central PA not an option technically during PA's covid restrictions.
3-6 of snow and ice around rain is 3-6 times the snow and Ice I saw last year, so big picture that’s a major win if the WAA piece works out. Better, it happens early enough to get out in it and enjoy it.
easier to accept seeing this has become such a central PA favored storm. Just hoping we can hold the line here.
He is being deliberately obtuse - we have had medium and long range threads for YEARS and anyone who wanders into one sees discussion, some serious, much not, over things that are phantoms. He knows this.
Dude, they chat about 15-day upper air patterns --- GOOD OR BAD --- in this thread all the time. That is what this thread is for. And everyone understands that it is LONG RANGE and illusory - but if you read through the thread indications of potential periods of blocking or not blocking can be discussed. You are being deliberately obtuse.
Booked a hotel for Emmitsburg, that’s just south of Gettysburg but still in Maryland. Dog friendly, so hoping for snow walks.
hopefully can hit 6-10 up there without stressing over mix. Fingers crossed.
Nevermind. Didn't realize that Covid protocols in PA now require a negative covid test within 3 days of arrival. Can't arrange that quick enough. Guess I will suffer with everyone else. Or...look into a dog friendly hotel or B & B in Emmitsburg, MD? They should do well up there, right?
