An absolute Thanksgiving miracle to have this weather - can do the dinner outside - so much safer with Covid.

The temp drop I remember so clearly. 70s to freezing like nothing. Then the snow and the unreal wind. Up your way you all got way more snow to go with the wind. yeah? The picture of the drifts in your part of the state running north and east from there are all-timers.

Didn’t miss that one - but I was in Cincinnati then and just seven. I remember it though - but cincy was just far enough south and west to miss the very worst of it. Still - school was closed for a week and a half and the drifts were crazy for just five inches of snow having fallen.

Moved there after college from 1994-96. My daughter was born at Springfield North hospital in 1995. We lived right downtown and an easy 15 minutes down to Young’s... I was there for Ohio’s part of the blizzard of ‘96. Wasn’t supposed to be much and we backed into 14 inches . Not like it was over here but, the biggest positive bust I’ve ever been around.

May need to visit my old stomping grounds of Richmond, Ind to Springfield, Ohio...

I don't understand you. Nothing OTHER THAN THE PANDEMIC is stopping people from going to support those businesses now. The fact of the matter is the vast majority of people are doing the safe thing for them and their loved ones and staying in as much as possible and avoiding crowds for obvious reasons. You want to save small businesses? I assume you have been calling the republican senate who has been obstructing a second needed relief act every day to lodge your frustration. Otherwise, what the **** are you going on about? Until a vaccine is here and widely available, it is going to be tough sledding for everyone.

Have booted the usual multi-family gathering for Thanksgiving, but will still host parent/in-law parent at the house - keeping the gathering to 7. BUT, we really want to have it on our patio outdoors - fingers crossed for the mid-50s midday highs for a week from Thursday with low chances of rain hold. That would be swell.

This is the well known "summer vestige" portion of NOVEMBER. We will also see this "summer vestige" at times in November/December, November/January/, November/February/, November/March, and November/April.

Could be that "severe season" never really ends this year and just rolls into 2021.
