    This is the CTP point & click for Harrisburg for Monday. Monday Snow showers likely before 11am, then rain and snow showers likely between 11am and 2pm, then a chance of rain showers after 2pm. Cloudy, with a high near 39. Calm wind becoming southeast around 6 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New snow accumulation of less than one inch possible.

    MDT only made it to 48 today. 7 degrees above normal, but not a torch like some other years.

    Lol, I wish that I was still that young some days! I am 44 years old with a wife, 2 daughters (8 & 10 years old) , a dog, a house & a job! I also happen to love the weather, with a particular fascination for snow! Merry Christmas!

    The 6z GFS greets the New Year with a snow to a mix on the 1st. Great CAD showing up at this range. The 1st to 3rd period might be our time!

    The 0z Euro Ensemble has a very nice look for January 2nd with the mean low staying to our south and off the coast.

    Yes, it’s good to see the storm on the Euro as well at this range. It is nice to see the storm passing off to the south for now with cold air entrenched. This might finally be our first chance at a widespread Winter event on the 2nd or 3rd.

    I see plenty of cold in the long range on the GFS. Look at how the run ends. The trough is in the east with a pipeline of Cold Highs to the north and northwest that are feeding in.

    But a few days later, the trough is back in the east.

    Very nice look with the storm transferring offshore by the time it reaches our latitude. Like you and @paweather said, plenty of time for some small changes to get a good snow hit here on the 2nd & 3rd.

    Here is CTP’s forecast for Monday near Harrisburg. Sunday Night A slight chance of snow after 1am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 32. Chance of precipitation is 20%. Monday A chance of snow before 1pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 40. Chance of precipitation is 50%.

    The 6z Euro is on board the “Egg snow train” for Monday. This is the best that the Euro has looked yet for this possible event. The GFS & Canadian have had some decent runs the last few days.
