Well it looked like that last year, and in 20, and in 19 too…2021 we rode, but as I said, it was lean. Ya, don’t take it from a guy who’s been there every 12/26 right after Xmas if at all possible, and loves to sled. And the years I couldn’t go, I mean If you call a crusty inch with grass and dirt showing snow on the ground, then ok. I’m not talking Vermont or NH or the ski resorts. I was just saying where I go to sled. Yes, it’s a crap year for December up north. But my point was, Ive seen this in far northern Maine many times before. But hey..let’s call everything the worst ever, cuz that’s what we do.

Here’s the thing…I’ve been going there for 30 yrs. I’ve been going the day after Xmas sledding for 25 of those 30 yrs. Please…please don’t try and tell me that this is something new. In the 25 yrs I’ve been doing this, it’s exactly as I stated. ‘19 and ‘20 they had feet in the middle of December, and were up and running at near 100%, and the grinches wiped em out to bare grass both those years. Less than what you see in that picture(which is almost nothing). Last year they had next to nothing too. It goes back and forth. I have every year documented from 1997 to present. And this isn’t anything new in that regard. Sometimes it’s a good December and then they get wiped out, some years they have the snow at the holidays to sled. Stay in your lane bro.

Last year it was the same, and in 2020 the same. And in 2019 too. Decembers can be very fickle there. 2021 I went on the 26th, but it was lean. And it’s been back and forth like that for the25 yrs I’ve been going sledding just after Xmas. 2016, 17, and 18 they had the snow the day after Xmas. But it’s a some yrs yes, and some no.

Lol…well I don’t know if I’d call it desperation. December is always a crapshoot, even up there. They’ll start piling it up so very soon. We were gonna head up on the 26th, but that’s scrapped. I’ve kept track of the Decembers Ive been able to go, and the ones I couldn’t, and it’s been the same for 25 yrs…pretty much flip a coin. Some years it’s a go, others not so much.

Really? We’ve been in the 20’s more mornings than I can count this fall. I think 22 was my lowest so far. You must have a blast furnace nearby lol. Your area certainly isn’t representative of most of CT…you’re literally probably 10-15 degrees above most inland areas on your overnight lows. Very odd.

So you think that AGW is causing no snow this December? Lmao!!! What was it when we had good Decembers? What was it when we had bad Decembers 20 yrs ago? 50’yrs ago? Stay in your own silly world. Sometimes things just don’t work out…for a myriad of reasons. Things are looking up as we go along…if they flop, you can have the credit that you were right.

These people are just ridiculous. I mean we’ve known for 12 days that this period was going to suck, and that the changes are shortly after. That looks in track, But yet these fools keep saying the same crap. Give it a rest already. If the whole thing fails, and we get zero snow and zero cold, I’ll gladly give them the credit for being right…even if it’s for the wrong reasons.

But yet we still have the same ingenuous people just constantly saying rinse and repeat..with persistence forecasting. When that is certainly not the case as we look forward. Nobody can guarantee anything, and sure, maybe we strike out again in a good pattern, that’s always possible. But it’s not the same, and it’s not rinse and repeat. It’s Trolling plain and simple. And it’s a shame.

Kev is gonna go into the reverse psych mode now…you can see it coming. Ironically things after Xmas week look pretty decent Actually, so I don’t get the angst at the moment?

You’ll be making money on March snow(and maybe more often) just as much as December snow though.

I agree it’s(march) a winter month…I just like the idea of the actual seasons. MET winter/seasons was created by man to ease the record keeping ideas..no?. Astronomical is based on the suns movement…not the ease of record keeping. And sure, they both have value..not denying that. It’s just my preference…it’s a tried and true idea that we’ve been following for millennia, and that’s good enough for me.
