  1. With the snow becoming heavy its just starting to stick on non paved surfaces. 34F. Shouldn't be long before we turn over to rain though.
  2. Kind of surprised no advisories for CT, i could see at least N litchfield under an advisory, they are boardering a warning in Berkshire county and there's a lot of elevation >1K feet there. I have seen in the past advisories and warnings listed specifically for locations only above 500ft in CT. Not that any of that matters in the outcome, just find it interesting.
  3. @ORH_wxman how do you do the 84hr trick on UQUAM for the RGEM?
  4. EPS 12Z Probs 1" 3" 6" Not too much change from 00Z except gradient sharpened near the coast.
  5. Spread looks greater than the 00Z run, also note that the cluster is quite a bit NW of the mean.
  6. This is the only thing that could save this season from an F. Just one warning snowfall is all i want, is that too much to ask, Lord.
  7. GEM looks good.. issues for the coast, 850s are pretty warm. Inland does well.
  8. March 2020 so far... ORH +8.1 (0.3 snow) BDL +8.0 (1.0 snow) NYC +7.8 (0.0 snow) BDR +7.0 (0.0 snow) BOS +6.0 (Trace)
  9. didnt know that went back that far.
  10. imagine if we had the power of the internet, social media and weather forums like we did in 2001-2002 It woulnd't be toaster bath or cliff jumping it would be a stiraght .38 to the head.
  11. You def got more in Jan. Jan 18th.
  12. thought i stumbled into the banter thread for a minute.
  13. that may be the only thing that could save this winter from a hard F
  14. two 9 years olds spotted behind him skateboarding and an old man with a cane casually walking up the steps
  15. This for annoying me with all those severe posts and threads in the middle of the damn winter @weatherwiz
  16. I'm glad you had a good time and enjoyed it don't get me wrong. I would have too. But there's something about a very localized snow event while everyone else is in the duldrums of a depressing brown winter with nothing going on, it just seems i dunno, sad. Part of what i like when we get a huge nor'easter that smashes everyone down to the coast with epic snow is that we are all talking about and we are all enjoying it. A big part of it to me is just having like the state shut down, it's on the news, everyones talking about it. It disrupts and changes the entire landscape for everyone. Some family and friends tell me if i love snow so much then just move to alaska or the mountains of the west. And i've lived in South Lake Tahoe for a while. Snow there was just, i dunno boring. There wasn't this huge 960mb low passing over the BM with blizzard conditions and a beautiful looking radar. The radar always looked lame with Sierra blocking the scan. The snow was expected by everyone and you couldn't really see far as there were pines and hills surrounding everything. Also another weird thing i noted at 6,000ft+ is that it constantly snowed at 33-36F. And i mean steady SN at above freezing.
  17. I feel like this would be marginally fun unless I went there with a bunch of friends and went plowing or snowmobiling or some activity
  18. what did you do there? just walk around in the snow? did you stay at a hotel?
  19. An ice cream truck just drove by..
  20. It wasnt snowless. We had an advisory event about 3-5" statewide in January (the 18th). So that's just false. Also it's not worse than 2001-2002. 01-02 featured 1 advisory event for CT the ENTIRE season. This season there was a major inland 10"+ snow storm in Dec, another advisory snow storm in Dec, a moderate ice event and a Jan advisory snowfall level event. Also also, it's March 2nd. So J-M is only 2 months, Jan and Feb. Unless you are clairvoyant and know with 100% certainty we are not seeing any snow in March at all. Don't get me wrong it's bad, very bad. But it's still a bit better than 2001-2002. That's where the buck stops. Grade: F
  21. 18Z EPS Mean SLP spread and total qpf for a 24hr period. Looks pretty good given this lead time.
  22. I'm legit terrified after this post.
