  1. Well if the mid-atlantic is up to the Pike now then NJ/NYC climo is up to Maine. No good. Rain.
  2. If this winter is shit like the last two were, i might do something drastic. Don't test me mother nature
  3. losing power for days w/o a generator usually mean a ton of food in the fridge and freezer needs to be thrown out. Do people buy coolers and ice and put it in there?
  4. luckily we didnt lose power, just internet, comcast was down. gusts were in the 50s for most of new haven county. it was worse in the higher elevation in wooded areas.
  5. I was going to post some shots from around my hood but everytime i upload an image it gives me an error. All it says is "-200" whatever that means.
  6. Sandy was longer? I wasn't here for Sandy but i remember Floyd being pretty lame.
  7. Lights flickering. Holy moly...
  8. How do the winds compare to Sandy Irene and Floyd in CT?
  9. I also feel like this is some of the strongest winds i ever seen but the numbers dont support that gusts are in the mid 40s to mid 50s around the state, BDR 62. We see something like that every year but this just looks a lot worse for some reason.
  10. How is there like zero coordination here? Am i missing something or is this just ridiculous? Edit: they responded to me on twitter saying its an old graphic. Although, the timestamp shows they came out at roughly the same time, i figured both were new from the AM shift...either they were using an old graphic and updated the time or its an error and they're correcting it
  11. thats quite the 24hr change.
  12. titt ies. doesnt the forum block swear words. shit **** EDIT: some of them i guess. blocked titt ies for sure. lol
  13. whats wrong with tropical *******? works for me
  14. Yeah ill just be cautious now and check to see any weird spots popping up in the future. Chris Brown GOAT
  15. The worst. 6 hours. 830AM to 230PM. If it were 89 that day i would have been fine! Nah. Just lots of aloe, lidocaine, noxema and little sleep. Didn't wear a shirt for a week. I was working on a job site. It was only supposed to take an hour or two at the most and at 830AM to say 930 or 1030 at the latest i thought id be more than fine. But it ended up being 6 hours, no shade and i couldnt really leave.
  16. 93/74 HX 102 North Haven. High of 95. Thats my boy Ethan. BTW i made the mistake of not wearing sun screen a little over a week ago. Thursday 7/9/20. It was about 90 that day. And i got the worse sunburn of my life. Wear sunscreen folks.
  17. Thanks for the response. So we cant see what the actual C temp was because it was rounded to the nearest degree. So likely it was 35 point something, say 35.7 and rounded to 36C. That makes sense. Still an all time record high as the latest record is the one that stands (which i never really agreed with) same with snow measurements. They usually do point out that it was a tie and list the previous years too.
  18. Question. So why is NWS Caribou calling it 96F (there is an updated NWS Chat), when the intermediate obs are 96.8F/36C, which would be 97F for the high. Where are they getting 96 from? I've only seen reports of 95F and 97F or 35/36C. Is it an average of a time interval? From what ive understood the high temperature is a 5 min average right?
  19. what site do you get those 5 minute obs from? I use this for METARs but it only has hourly for KCAR https://www.aviationweather.gov/metar/data?ids=KCAR&format=raw&hours=3&taf=off&layout=on
  20. Records so far KCAR 96R (Previous 91 in 1995), All Time Record (Tie) 1944, 1977 KHUL 95R (Previous 92 in 1995) KBGR, KMLT 95, Not yet reached
