I just run out the snowblower in the spring.  Same with my mower.
Both are 15ish years old.  Engines are fine.

    other parts not so much.

I lived in Cambridgeport (Pearl Street) in  the 1975-76 winter.  Right down the street from TT the Bears Place.   Photodocumented a nice event in March of 1976.  Slides though and it would be time consuming to scan and digitize.

I go by there everyday. Old guy that shovels snow there and the Middle East wears a heavy coat, gloves, hat and shorts.

but wasn't it supposed to be free everywhere?

No. Where did you get that impression?

    Most places aren't

And insurance won't cover an asymptomatic test. If you have symptoms, you can get an MD to sign off on one. Then insurance covers the doctors visit and the test.

I have a high deducible plan. I don't get any coverage until I hit $3500. So in January, even if I have symptoms, it will be cheaper to just get the test rather than get the doctors visit cost to go with it. I can submit it to count towards my deductible, though.

Lots of free testing here in Massachusetts.  My wife volunteers two days a week at the town testing site in Randolph.  The town has just expanded from twice a week to 6 days a week; 4 hours each day.  Today is one of her days, so she has the rain gear ready.

I dunno. Seems like they are few and far between. And mostly in eastern mass. I live in central mass and there's not any around me that I know of. And 4 hours each day? That doesn't work for a lot of people. We got ours at a CVS minute clinic, and I took my daughter to get a rapid test back in October at Carewell in Auburn. It was $160.

exactly. It dis-incentivizes people to want to get tested. They'll just say f-it.

Most testing sites cost a lot too. Our tests were $130 a piece. So we spent $520 bucks to get us back to work and back to school.

I had 2 employees travel over T-day and they both got a test to get back to work and they paid $130 and $150. I'm not sure where all this free testing is

  6. All 4 of our tests came back negative. We flew on Friday after the test, wore masks like we were supposed to, used a boat load of hand sanitizer and wiped everything down with Clorox wipes.  It's been 3 days and we all feel fine.

We were all over Disney for 10 days, ate out in restaurants 3 meals a day, and were around a ton of people. We wore masks everywhere except to sit down and eat, and used gallons of hand sanitizer.

Flying was fine. 175 seat plane only had 50 people.

  7. I see Vermont is on Massachusetts quarantine list now. Hawaii is all that’s left.

If I’m not mistaken, there are other states that have lower percentages than Massachusetts. At this point these 2 week quarantine orders or negative test are ridiculous. There aren’t too many states left with those orders in place. And the few that do say it’s voluntary. I think maybe Maine and Vermont have a mandatory and/or penalty associated with it. Things change so fast I can’t keep up. But all these states need to do away with it. It’s not helping anything that I can see and it just costs people money to test.

We tested 16 of us Thanksgiving morning at an MD family friend’s office.  All negative.  Biggest gathering since a year ago.  Hopefully accurate amd no one gets sick...

We did our CVS drive thru test on Wednesday morning. Even though I think it’s garbage, we did the PCR test since the kids school and my work follows state guidelines.
Interesting test. We sat in a taxi van and we relayed the confirmation numbers to the nurse at the window through the driver who’s first language was Hindi.

The test was a self administered nose swab. She handed the kits in bags to us through the window and watched us do the swab and put the swab into the little vial. We then handed the zip lock bags back to the driver who passed them thru the window. The driver said he’s taken a quite a few Disney guests to that location.
CVS said 3-5 days. Today us just day 2.
I have an app on my phone we can check to get the results.

I am new here too and it is not always easy to pick up on the lingo and inside jokes. My advice? Reach out to @Damage In Tolland for guidance and advice. The guy is a natural-born teacher who lives to patiently help the newbies understand the climo in New England especially the kind of idyllic, calm, sunny, low-damage weather you guys enjoy in CT. I’m told he lives on a mountain so that means he’s gotta be pretty wise.

He’ll teach you how to install
