  1. I ended up pretty close to average, but I’m not sure how. We had a couple 15-16 inchers that helped get there.
  2. I’m in Millville MA. 45 degrees and I have pingers bouncing off my windshield.
  3. Larger scale vaccine roll out should alleviate a lot of this. But, yea, at some point this has to stop. If you're sick, stay home, like any other illness. Widespread testing of the otherwise healthy population where 0.02% of the population test positive but are otherwise only sick for a few days becomes pointless. I would argue it's pretty pointless now, but its what's been done for the last 12 months. This will finally go away too, it'll just take another couple of years I'm afraid. It will end when the death number come down to an "acceptable" number, whatever that is. My guess is when the death rate hits a level similar to seasonal flu is when the PCR testing nonsense ends. The death rates are the only reason we are where we are now. If 60% of the death totals were eliminated (LTC facilities), we'd be living our lives like it was February, 2020.
  4. I see their trucks up and down the mass pike all the time.
  5. I still fail to see why MLB schedules games for the northeast before mid April. Even then it sux.
  6. Beautiful day for Fenway # Steinfail #baseballfail
  7. Not so much. It’s a pretty new technology too. Nothing old school about it.
  8. I’m totally stealing this and posting it on social media anti vax sites. This will send them into orbit
  9. Even the measles vaccine is “only” 95% effective. The mumps part s only 78% effective. You do see a few breakthrough infections, but it’s rare because the entire population (mostly) is vaccinated with the MMR. Once more people get vaccinated for COVID, there’ll be fewer breakthrough infections. That story out of Washington lacked a ton of context. Questions like how many of those 100 were tested because they felt sick? How many were tested as part of routine testing that weren’t sick (I.e., low viral load as to be non infectious)? How old were they? The story did say that at the 2 that died were in their 80’s. Some older people won’t have a good immune response. But it’s a typical story designed to get clicks that contain zero background nor context.
  10. The true dumpster fire on the calendar. Every.Frickin.Year (there are exceptions but they’re mostly so hideous I’ve blotted the good ones out) And the wind is rippin right now!
  11. Let us know what happens. I’ve got 20 more days to wait
  12. yes and no.. The plug and play aspect was from the J&J adenovirus scaffold. That was developed from work on SARS1, MERS, and Ebola. The mRNA technology is even more plug and play.
  13. From wat I've kept up with, both Pfizer and Moderna are pretty effective against most of the wider spread variants. Israel is a small country and was able to handle the logistics better. They also targeted vaccinations by age (mostly) instead of the hodge podge identity group we've used. Over half the new cases in Massachusetts are in the under 30 crowd. Once they start getting vaccinated, the numbers will start to drop like a rock. Bigger picture is that these mRNA vaccines look to be really effective. If they are as effective (and safe) against other infectious diseases, this will advance the science of vaccines light years. This is basically a plug and play technology. Future trials may be able to be run as fast. And taken out of pandemic mode, a safe and efficacious vaccine can be done in <2 years with good follow up data for durability.
  14. I’ve been getting messages on mine for a solid week but I heard that I won’t get the decoder ring until I get the second shot.
  15. 30 years ago, lower box seats behind the dugout were $20 face value. My buddy lived on Queensbury street. We’d drink down at a little dive bar off Kilmarnock, then stumble over after the game started and buy those lower box seats for 10 bucks a piece off the street.
  16. Yea, they were terrible. Thry were pretty awful back in the Butch Hobson/Kennedy days too. Jimy (I only have one M in my name) Williams was trash too.
  17. You know you and i are on the same page, but we dont want it shut down again Besides, i need to report my fever, chills, headache, and horn growth when i get my second dose in 3 weeks
  18. Lets dont get the little bit of covid talk shut down again. Maybe we just keep to non controversial stuff like, my arm hurt like a bastard afterwards?
  19. Arguing over whether it’s a dew of 70 or 68 in the mulch bed. Good times
