We have decided to come home tomorrow from our trip, cutting it short by 2 days. Luckily the airline has allowed us to change our flight at no charge due to Dorian. Thursday is going to be busy since we have no food or gas for the generator. Hopefully it will either miss us big time or weaken as it comes up the coast and not be a big issue.

Am sick to my stomach watching Dorian. We are still in Colorado but have our 3 pups at home. Not sure what to do. It will cost us $400 to change our flight to an earlier day if needed but the way models are changing daily, just don't know.

Heading to Colorado tomorrow for some camping, hiking, and hopefully tagging a few 14'ers. Fun times are a coming!

I have a question. My wife and I are heading to Colorado for a vacation this summer. We would go either in July or late August/early Sept. Airline tickets are much cheaper for the later than in July by several hundred dollars. Thing is I am now deftly worried about Hurricanes after last year but we so want to go. I know the fear is pretty much unfounded since the chance of getting a storm in any given year is slim but would you go and not worry about storms?

What website does everyone use for radar? I used to use Intellicast but they went away and merged with wunderground which I find takes too long to load as it is very heavy with ads. I use weather.com now but do not like it's presentation too much on the computer. It is much better on my phone for some odd reason.

Excitement I believe. Personally I hate severe weather much like I hate hurricanes but I do like tracking them. Whether it be strong straight line winds or hail. I love very heavy downpours and the dark clouds from them but that's it.

Allergy season is getting earlier and earlier. Grass is growing, eyes are watering, sinuses are clogged, sneezing a go.

Just got back from a camping trip out by Morganton. Saw a few wet flakes on the drive up on Thursday between Winston-Salem and Statesville and again between Statesville and Morganton but that was it. Lots of rain on Saturday but woke up to clear skies and cool temps this morning. Had a great time but could have done without all the rain.

So far for me: 1. Nope 2. Nope - short one coming - 1 day and 2 nights 3. Nope 4. Nope Other than a chance of flurries early Monday morning, I don't see any real chances of snow, sleet, or freezing rain this month. Hope I am wrong but I don't think so.

So my wife and I are supposed to be heading to the Biltmore on Sunday but with all the concerns of decent snow on Sunday we decided to head up a day early. Hopefully we have made a good decision even with the added cost of an additional day in a motel.

I agree. Areas in the Mountains like Boone are going to get pounded. Foothills and points eastward not so much. Still too early in the season for big winter storms for us.

I, for the first time ever, is hoping for no snow for NC. Why you ask? My wife and I are heading to Asheville Sunday for the Biltmore Candlelight Christmas. I have non-refundable hotel rooms as well as the tickets. I hate driving in snow.

Has anyone seen any charts of highest winds gusts from the storm? I heard of a 105 mph gust at Fort Macon and Wrightsville Beach but nothing else.

This is a few miles down the road from me. Probably why my power went out initially.

Had an intense band come thru and knocked out our power but once the rain and winds let up, it came back on. I thought we were done with power for a long time.

I am seriously doubting those numbers. It is calling for 24" for us and as of right now I have only had .16" and I live just southeast of NB.
