  1. I'll vouch for UVA!! Although it has been quite a bit since I was there, both my younger sisters also went (youngest graduated in 2014).
  2. phin i thought you were leaving...?
  3. 2020 was such a long year, that feels like a million years ago.
  4. don't let the door hit you on the way out champ!
  5. heavy snow downtown - but basically not sticking to anything: 34/33
  6. you get an initial drop around sunset of a few degrees and then it just holds steady - i remember plenty of mornings in NYC where we'd be around 30 and literally 20-30 miles west in NJ it would be near 0.
  7. heat island is magical - in the absence of wind, the temperature does not drop here. NYC is even more insane.
  8. fantastic day in the mid 50s here in the District - you can smell spring right on the horizon. the Mall and all the open space has been a refuge for my 2yr-old daughter and me during the pandemic. Today, she asked the Washington Monument (which she claims is hers) what its favorite food was.
  9. yeah the mall has tons of open areas with limited tree cover - they get torched. on some side streets you still have some snow in planters on the sidewalk and open space that is under the shade of buildings still has snow.
  10. DCA hit 50 today and basically all the snow downtown is gone - the Mall just looks like the remnants of snowmen and some snow in shaded areas.
  11. spring is but a few weeks away now!
  12. sometimes i miss it and sometimes i don't.
  13. it's bad but we had way worse on the NYC subforum - especially as the season wore down and frustration set in.
  14. lol - this isn't the NYC subforum - take it down a notch.
  15. DC hasn't really been doing parking enforcement since the start of the pandemic.
  16. yeah Jan 2019. I think the higher amounts were fairly localized.
  17. This will be my daughter's first real experience with snow. She was 3 months old back in 2019 when we got around 10" (so that doesn't count). Then she briefly saw some snow in early 2020 (pre-pandemic), so she was just over a year, when we were visiting some friends outside NYC in NJ.
  18. yeah that sucked. although it sure didn't melt quickly.
