  4. Anthony, Keith may be right. This is 2020. If there ever was a year for a phase 9, this is it. As always ....
  5. Looking out at my postage stamp on a late November Thanksgiving morning. I think that 9 am at 60 degrees does not do justice to “Over the river and through the woods”. We boomers are nearly done and so be it. I am still thankful for everyone on this forum who by their words have given me more hope and enjoyment than I probably deserve. Be well and Happy Thanksgiving all from one old bird that still remains too tough to grace even a desperate menu. As always ...

  9. Just remembering, H2O, from my little guy days in the early fifties, folks with property, even in the city, still swept leaves into piles for burning. A tradition, thankfully long gone, however the aroma of burning leaves as an announcement for Fall, still lingers. As always....
  10. One last touch, we can ask Liberty to operate a snowmaker on the roof of one of the Rock Center buildings, for lighting day. We just have to hope it can reach the ground still frozen. As always ....
  11. Good morning, Irish. I agree only if BX E is assisted by Anthony and S19. RJ would be responsible for keeping a video record for the Department Of Defense. As always ....
  12. May we always retain an S of H, stay well all. As always .....
  13. Liberty, the attached photo is from a book titled The Christmas Tree At Rockefeller Center. A pictorial history of the tree. Ironically the forward of the book is by Willard Scott a TV weather person, it came out over 20 years ago. The photo below is from page 68, titled Patriotic Statement. The year was 1942 and conservation for the war effort was in effect. The trees, three of them, remained unlit, alive, root bagged for replanting. Each Norway Spruce was thirty feet high. The next year the same was done with a 55 foot Norway Spruce. I would like to see a resumption of the replanting tradition. I’m not a horticulturist and not even sure if it is possible with a live tree or if it was even successful during the years mentioned. To me that type of preservation is very Patriotic. As always ....
  14. You may have to recuse yourself on this one, WW. As always ....
  15. Good thought and understandable. In the urban environment the Gowanus and Cross Bx expressways, even off peak, are more like automotive conga lines. As always ....
  16. Such expressive eyes. I wonder if the owl hitched a ride or just remained with its home while it was destroyed right under it. As always ...
  17. Morning, Julian, Irish. Our streets remained unsalted so I guess none of that was a major threat for the city. As always....
  18. “You are what you eat” and if that’s the case, Phineas, they will do no more than live the metaphor. As always ....
  19. I had it done over 20 years ago. It was considered ambulatory and I was discharged the same day. A Canadian synthetic patch was used. No problems with anesthesia other than the fact that I woke up near the end of the procedure. It must have been no more than twilight. Like Fella says no real issues. I was back to work in a week. No recurrence ever. As always ....
  20. For the informed S W’s that are well versed on terms, content and concepts you may be successful. For some of us ignorance is still bliss. We should stay happy, at least, until the first sun angle post shows up around December 22nd. As always ....
  21. Thankyou ELI. I read it. I understood it as best I could. To me it boils down to damned if you do, damned if you don’t. Unfortunately the Least Common Denominator is damned. As always.....
  22. I had to go up to the row house roof for a leaf check and even at twilight the light pollution, from the Brooklyn skyline, was breathtaking. I forego the shorts because I do have consideration/respect for the ambiance of the surrounding area. As always ....
  23. Unc, I do remember that one. I was running a training unit for the USPS. NYC Morgan annex. I had passed through Penn station at about 6am and it was chaotic. The in coming system was already effecting RR transportation. I remember one of the units senior examiners, who had relatives west and south, arriving saying, I hope we’re ready for what’s coming. My last pleasant memory was shoveling after that 12+ hour day. As always......
  24. I believe you. Only in Heaven do you need a devils advocate. There will be no need for one as we are all roasting in .......... As always .....
  25. Irish, my brick and mortar bound maple finally, 11/09/2020, heeded nature’s call and gentle kiss. I also tried standing out in the postage stamp awhile. I never got natures kiss but sure as hell got the call. As always......
