  1. 13” + in Barkhamsted, someone is not enthusiastic about plowing thu the snow drift at the bottom of the deck stairs
  2. The trip from Hartland to Stratford down Route 8 was easy, no one is on the road, there is about 15” at the Statford Coast Guard station
  3. Going down route 8 through Thomaston the snow is fairly light here, when I left Hartland I could not get out of my door and had to go around the back of the house through chest high drifts, this storm reminds me exactly of the blizzard to 78 in Wethersfield Ct when I was a senior in high school, very similar storm.
  4. 25° wind gusting over 50mph, heavy sideways snow at the moment, getting an exact measurement is going to be futile but it appears that at least 3 to 4 inches has fallen since the last measurement and storm total is about 1 foot, opening the door should be interesting
  5. 26° wind gusting over 40mph now, moderate to heavy snow, obviously because of drifting measuring is approximate, 6.5”
  6. Heavy drifting snow and 26° 5+ inches of snow since 6 PM, NE wind gusting over 35mph
  7. someone mentioned the Connecticut River Valley snow hole today and I was in Southwick about an hour ago where there was light snow and 1” of new snow and at the top of the hill in East Hartland it was heavy wind driven snow with over 3” of new snow
  8. 26° and moderate to heavy snow, a lot of drifting but 3” to 4” of new snow since 5 PM
  9. although it’s been snowing lightly since early this morning it has now picked up considerably so I guess this is the beginning of the blizzard of 26, 29°
  10. 30° and light snow, about .25” since sometime after midnight, 11”/13” OTG
  11. 2.75” snow total with a coating of sleet and freezing rain 32° ice starting to drip off the trees a little
  12. 2.25” total new snow and has changed over to sleet in Hartland, 29°
  13. 31° and light snow in Southwick with about an inch of new snow. The snow is melting off of my black truck, big change in the sun angle from three weeks ago.
  14. if you don’t have four-wheel-drive, do not go out the state might have been caught unprepared for this
  15. I’ll find out shortly as I’m ready to head down to Southwick however looking out the window at Mountain Road at the top of the hill here there’s people driving with their flashers on, it’s almost like a South Carolina thunderstorm lol! Seriously though this is just like the storm a couple of weeks ago.
  16. It is remarkable how fast it went from being very light snow to what looks almost like a blizzard, on top of the hill here in East Hartland roads are already covered and visibility is under a quarter mile, E-NE wind is starting to pick up. A friend said that driving from Canton to Torrington is tricky as the state has has not been out yet and the roads are getting covered,
  17. In 20 minutes it has gone from light snow to moderate to almost heavy snow, should be interesting to see what’s happening in Southwick when I get down there.
  18. 20° and moderate to heavy wind driven snow in North Myrtle Beach SC about 3” of snow.
  19. 19° and moderate to heavy wind driven snow in North Myrtle Beach SC.
  20. got down to North Myrtle yesterday morning and it was 52° and I thought there won’t be any snow, as of now it’s 26° with heavy wind driven snow,, supposedly 4 to 8 maybe more
  21. I have CarPlay Weather Radar which is pretty good
