  1. Snow maps are flawed, but the drying trend is obvious when looking at them.
  2. 12Z NAM mixes as far north in the Valley as OKV. I stay all snow, but <.40" QPF through hr 39.
  3. I selfishly agree with PSU’s post above. I was encouraged that 00Z Euro looked to be on the high end for QPF among that model suite. That usually bodes well. Hopefully the 6Z EC didn’t take a step back .
  4. Would you be able to share how much QPF is progged ? The wife and I have an early a.m. appointment in Morgantown on Monday, and were considering traveling up there late on Sunday. The storm obviously affects that decision,
  5. 18Z 12k NAM mixes here and even turns to rain for a while. Haven't seen that on any runs of a global model. 3K is a heavy snowfall for my yard along the lines of the ECMWF.
  6. Thanks. weather.us just updated. Shows snow breaking out in my 'hood Sunday afternoon around 1:00 and stays snow until 8:00-9:00 p.m. Hopefully the trend continues and more of us can get in the game.
  7. 12Z GFS is all snow here. At least for now. More than 0.50" QPF. FV-3 mixes, and is of course much wetter.
  8. I finished with exactly 1.00" liquid. 0.76" was snow (sleet mix at times) and 0.24" was freezing rain.
  9. Just measured ~0.15" ice accretion on tree branches. About the same on top of the snow cover. Pretty cool to break ice sheets off the top of the snow.
  10. Steady light freezing rain at 30.5° is glazing things up nicely here now that the sun is down.
  11. CLI report says DCA recorded 2.6" today. At 16.6" for the season now, there are only 6 winters in the past 31 years with more snowfall than this year at the airport.
  12. I measured a total of 0.76" of liquid from the 5.7" of snow that fell this a.m. That's a ratio of 7.5:1
  13. The thunder snow this morning ranks this one up there with the best < 6" events I have experienced. It wasn't the muffled thunder you sometimes get in winter. It was legit.
  14. SN+ with 1/4 mile visibility. 5.3" on the ground. 7:00 -- 0.5" 8:00 -- 1.3" 9:00 -- 3.2" 10:00 - 4.3" 11:00 - 5.3"
  15. Just had a flash of lightning followed by a loud crash of thunder. eta: more flashes and loud thunder ongoing
  16. Snow began here just before 6:00 a.m. Almost 2" accumulated in the past hour. 7:00 -- 0.5" 8:00 -- 1.3" 9:00 -- 3.2"
  17. Best rates/ lowest visibility of this winter right now. Temp still dropping, down to 27. ETA: house across the street is about 350' from my front door and is barely visible at the moment.
  18. 0.5" for the 7:00 a.m. Cocorahs report. Heavy snow now with 1/4 mile visibility. Back down to 28 degrees.
  19. Spotter in Petersburg, WV already reporting 2" on the ground.
  20. Light snow and a freshening breeze. Temp up to 30.6 from 28 earlier. Should dip back as precip becomes steadier.
  21. 29/9 with high clouds covering the full moon. LWX mentioning 2" per hour rates here tomorrow morning.
  22. 32/8. Baro 30.58” with a light northerly breeze at 3 mph.
