High of 24 after a low of 9 this morning. Virtually all of Monday’s snow is still here.

Down to 19.5/9.7 with a WNW wind 8 gusting to 19. That makes wind chill now between 9 and 4 degrees. I just finished shoveling driveway after the snowblower decided it didn't want to participate. @Jebman would be proud, my driveway is 1/4 mile long lol.
Mine is only about 350’ and I got my 15 year-old son to help me shovel it today. Piece of cake with the fluffy light snow. But he still complained a bit and asked me how I did it alone when we had 36” of snow in 2016 or 46” in 2010. I told him I’ve been waiting a long time for his help lol.

Heavy wind gusts just hit here and this powdery snow is blowing around like crazy. So much for the driveway I cleared earlier in the day,

The models did a nice job keying on the cities for this one. My bar was 3 inches. And I will end up passing that. Close now. Makes it a lot more fun when everyone gets in on the action.
Wow bro ! Our locations are usually fairly close to one another, but you’re doing much better tonight. I’m at 0.7” and still just light snow.

this is our first storm in our new neighborhood - it's interesting how we are tracking pretty close to you guys who are more or less due west of us but with similar elevation. We are basically the highest point going due west until you get to around Tysons (the Tysons skyline is actually pretty prominent from here and we can see buildings in Reston/Herndon).
Great spot to watch thunderstorms approaching also. I spent many late summer afternoons at Ft Reno Park looking westward.

me too. we barely got any snow from the last storm.
I did great last weekend with almost 5”. Has made it easier to stay patient today. Still hoping we can both snag a few inches later this evening.

It’s been snowing off and on since 9:00 a.m. here. I’ve got about 0.1” on the snow board. Hoping things can come together later, as forecasted.

First snow shower of the event here. Has whitened the paved surfaces pretty quickly.

Has the NWS expected snowfall map changed since yesterday afternoon? I can’t find it. It’s been 2 years since there has been any actual expected snowfall!

Lol, clearly whatever weenie was on shift at LWX yesterday afternoon left in the evening and mid shift had to come in and fix the snow forecast
They obviously aren’t buying the huge snow hole over the MD and WV panhandles that’s been all on the models for days. Now if they could just fix my WWA which only mentions accumulations for Garrett Co.

Thankfully we get in on some of the later action. Seems like a little weirder evolution, but it’s the NAM.
It’s also painting ~14:1 ratios for our area.

I only mention it because NWS Blacksburg did in their short term discussion.

Just saw the radar and had to visit this thread lol. I find the snow can lag behind from west to east during these types of show showers/squalls.Just started snowing. Big flakes. No wind yet.

How much snow did you get with this mornings thump? Got about an inch and half here. But the roads were untreated and one hell of a mess.
No snow for me this morning at 500’ elevation. Started as rain at 31°.
