Just looked at 12z GEFS as a comparison and that was a big move but the ensembles move with the OP usually.

Yeah, When you get to 6" even if its outside of the criteria, It makes some feel soooo much better that they got there warning.

I believe most WFO's do it on the first of the season storms to make the public aware.
