  1. You will probably see them the next few years as they migrate south and west, They were in my neighbors crab apple tree 4 yrs ago but the hairs from the cocoon can last several years on the ground so mowing stirs them up and gets them airborne, I'm sure there in my red oaks but they're in the 60'+ class where i couldn't address them, When their dormant in winter or early spring, You can cut the branch with the nest, Place in a bucket of soapy water or burn them to get rid of them but you would need to involve a neighborhood to do it to try to eradicate them and most don't even know what they are or even look like.
  2. Won't be surprised if we go at least -2°F for June here.
  3. We actually are PC here this afternoon, A rare sun sighting this month, 72/60°F.
  4. The hairs of the caterpillar are toxic as that's there defense mechanism, Some people are subject to more of a reaction then others, Me being one of them as i am when i get insect bites, I swell up and develop a rash.
  5. We didn't have them growing up either, They had originally popped up in the mid coast area in the last 10 yrs or so and have migrated further inland in the past several years here.
  6. Got the recipe of ingredients to stop the itching and just batched it together and poured it into a spray bottle and i can tell you so far, Its working at relieving the itch.
  7. I want to crawl out of my skin, Fukn Browntail moth is the nastiest itch ever, I have it everywhere in clusters.
  8. If this was winter weather i would be doing cart wheels.
  9. I just worked up a good sweat just reading the last two pages.
  10. On a better note, Garden is starting to take off after 2 weeks,
  11. Another chippy down,(2 today) And i see another running around, They're non stop this year after a few year hiatus.
  12. 2.50" so far this month and another .04" today so far in two separate showers.
  13. Surrounding stations are -2°+ here for June so far.
  14. Bumper crop this year, I have trapped 5 so far, Another one this morning before work but he/she was running around with another one yesterday so i have at least one more.
  15. No shortage of rain up here, Just a shortage of sunshine.
  16. Have not had to water, Grass is starting to sprout in the area i reseeded.
  17. This whole month has sucked as far as sunny days, Far and few between, Been pretty wet actually, So far its been a meh spring.
  18. That is a real possibility, Someone in the neighborhood was feeding the grey's shelled peanuts and i was finding them everywhere, They were burying them in the mulch of my blueberry plants, Inside the soil in my watermelon plant tote, And i even found one inside the hitch on my snowmobile trailer.
