    I don't remember that one. I'm looking at the Euro now and it just looks like a low develops right along the front and passes west/north of us.

    That literally never happens, though. The winds switch and dry things out before the cold air can get there.

    That's pretty impressive! I didn't see any accumulation but I find it hard to believe looking at radar that nothing fell. I think it was just so light and the wind is already whipping.

    A thought I had about our upcoming winter and the PSU stats. Isn't is possible that, since December seems to act less and less like winter of late and March is acting more and more like winter, the PSU stats/theory don't matter as much or perhaps the first measurable snow could be later into December and we could still have a blockbuster winter?

    Nice! I was fearful when I opened this thread. One question I have for you is how you think we get to those totals? Is it one big storm and then a few smaller ones like, say, 1995-1996 and 2002-2003, or is it more like 2013-2014 when it was just a parade of small to medium storms with basically wall-to-wall winter, very cold temps, and snow on the ground the entire time, or is it 2015-2016 where we get one massive storm and it is otherwise a shutout? Given the expected pattern, I'm going to guess you think we get hit with a big one and then some smaller storms.

    Curious when the first snows were in 2002-2003, 1995-1996, and 2009-2010.

    I would love a big Christmas snowstorm one year but I will happily trade a torch Christmas for an early start to winter and a snow January and February.

    Lot of squinting. Think it's just a few raindrops. Was definitely surprised to see such significant returns on radar. Had my hopes up.

    Radar looks very meh so far.

    The NAM kinda reminds me of Isaias in terms of how it ramped up quickly at the last minute and then impacted the southern NC coastline. Like a weaker version of it.

    12z GFS looks less intense in terms of rainfall than 6z but GGEM still looks pretty ugly. Not ideal on a Saturday but a big soaker would be so helpful.

    No doubt. Sounds like we probably dodged a bullet in Ellicott City so hopefully no issues there. I’m down in the Myrtle area and we lost power tonight from a storm. No wind or anything but just unbelievable lightning. Constant flashes.

    Have to say Blizzard of 96. That's the first big storm I really remember. I was glued to The Weather Channel and couldn't believe we had a Blizzard Warning. And then to be out of school for a whole week and to see the drifts.

    We could certainly use a couple of these to develop and eventually make their way here. We need rain so bad.
