A poster in the NYC forum has pictures showing about 6” in just over 90 minutes near Poughkeepsie..it’s been dumping here in nj, but the ratios are just so poor. 32 and heavy snow under one of those bands. Would be great base building stuff up north. .

4-5 otg at around 600’ in hunterdon county. Multiple occasions where it flipped/mixed with sleet and battled back to snow. It is absolute cement..7:1 maybe? .

The snow is hanging tough..several times tonight went over to sleet and battled back to heavy snow. A little elevation is probably helping. This is the heaviest cement you can imagine. Probably up around 5 fell and already compacting. .

Hunterdon county, about 600’. About an inch an hour for last 2. .

There is no such thing as a death blow to ski season in the first week of January. It’s been an absolutely awful last 10-14 days, but we average almost 200” from here on out. Plenty of season left for the northeast, and especially northern Vermont. Things are looking up all over NE compared to last year right now. You’re looking to get a nice start this weekend. .

Would recommend Okemo over Jay right now..Jay looks a little far north for the good stuff this weekend and will need at least a foot to get going the way it should be. Trails are limited right now. Okemo has done a great job blowing trails open and might cash in a little better in the next 7 days. Might be the top choice for a bit. Jay will be great again 10-14 from now if this pattern holds IMO.

NH resorts are WAY overdue for a crushing.

New Year and sanity is restored by something to track...feels good

100 percent agree. The emotion of last weeks wipe out makes it feel like it will never snow again, but we all know there's plenty of time for a remarkable season to take shape. Last year at this time wasn't much different and this year has much better potential. The high of Nov/first two of December was what made it tough. Already looking up with the last few model cycles.

Now there's a statement that will get some excitement.

Stayed there before… somewhat ski/on via toll house, so if there had been a base, you’d be able to ski out your door with 6 plus to the lift to take you up to a mountain with an inch..just crazy. .

It looks like winter again, but as predicted, flurries cold temps and snow making do nothing to make conditions any better. It’s really bad. Icy, skied off and crowded. Desperately need 6 of natural to make it skiable again. .

Yep, that’s only like 2-3 miles away I think…crazy. It just sums up this holiday week for all those people who spent a fortune. Really sucks. .

The flurries are become steady flurries here. I think we’ve squeezed out a total of 3/4” in the last two days. 6” would be like a whole new mountain here. .

Pretty bad here today. Couple routes down from the top…icy and beat up loaded with people (holiday crowd too). I don’t envy ski patrol. .

Jan 1st backyard at 1850’ last year. The only difference this year is that we started from a much deeper snow pack and the wipe out this year has been followed by a week of torch. The emotional part of me wants to buy a round in the panic room, but I’m trying to stay grounded and say “it’s northern f’n Vermont; it’ll snow” .

Wasn't just you..I said it too.. November was great up north and the calls for a November torch were simply, just because. It was nothing like last year and several LR "torchy" periods got beat back. But there is no denying December, particularly the last two weeks for NNE, have been nothing short of a disaster, torch, shit sandwich, whatever you want to call it. The calls for a December torch were right, though I think some were for the wrong reason..but right is right. We can easily still get to normal snowfall totals and up north, it can change really quickly. I prefer to be optimistic, especially in late December.
