  1. Gonna rain in Hampton Roads. Count on it. .
  2. If that were a temperature forecast I’d be okay. 70” of rain in a calendar year for a non-tropical area is bonkers .
  3. Per GFS, I’m looking at anywhere between 1.75”-2.25” of QPF. It is unreal. The ground around here is saturated already. Our normal rainfall for the year is 48.50”. We have blown past that. I’m already at 65” for the year and fully expect to hit 68” before 2018 is said and done. That is insane. .
  4. Mac doesn’t know what to do with himself. .
  5. I’m going to take my 1.25” of rain and think wistfully of what could be if only temperatures would cooperate in SE VA & NE NC. I have the beach less than an hour away, so it’s nice when I want to go to Kitty Hawk and fish, but not so good when I want snow. Meh... I like beach weather instead of cold rain, but what can you do. Hope you guys west of me cash in so I can see pretty pictures of snow and Christmas decorations. .
  6. I’ll take my cold rain and wait for January. .
  7. I guess I’ll just stand here and look at a cold rain for this event. Hampton Roads misses out on this one. .
  8. Looks to my untrained eye that if it continues on the track it's on (looks like almost NNW) that it would make landfall around Beaufort, NC. Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
  9. Pulling in dry air. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  10. I hate to see what’s going to happen to Wrightsville Beach and Masonboro. Always my favorite spots to surf. I taught my now 16 year old and 14 year old daughters to surf there when they were 8 and 6 respectively. My 14 year old has been wondering all week if where she learned to surf will still look the same. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  11. Same to you. I think you’ll need positive thoughts headed your way more than I will. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  12. I explained the reasoning behind your comment and what Michael Ventrice tweeted. BTW, good to see you brother!! Looking forward to some winter tracking with you again this year. Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
  13. To be fair, each longitudinal/latitudinal line is approximately 60 miles from either N-S or E-W. Looking at what Michael Ventrice posted and plotting, it does look like it's 140 miles wide. Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
  14. Elizabeth City-Pasquotank Public Schools announced closures from Wednesday to Friday. I believe College of The Albemarle and Elizabeth City State University are doing the same thing. Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk

  16. They said they moved it east, but a bit west of model consensus. Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
  17. I'm not too worried about the effects for KECG. Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
  18. Mandatory evac of Outer Banks of Dare County starting at noon today for areas in yellow. Red areas at 7am tomorrow. Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
  19. I noticed that about five minutes ago, Brad P. stated in a reply tweet that modeling was coming north with the track. Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
  20. He explains things quite well. He has sound reasoning behind what he says. I sit on the northern end of the Albemarle Sound. Anything that comes in aeound MHX and rides north (just to my west) is a doomsday scenario for my location and Hampton Roads. Couple that with the drenching that has been going on since last week and, well, it isn't good. Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
  21. I'm just sitting here and taking it all in. After the debacle that was Matthew around here in October 2016, I'm not too fond of anything over 6" of rain. Just sharing what @crankywxguy posted on Twitter. He favors a more northward situation. Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
  22. @SteveVa how did you guys fare yesterday evening with the storms that rolled through. I was watching impressive lightning strike rates on the laptop while it was occurring. Looking to the north from Elizabeth City towards Virginia there was a huge and beautifully formed anvil cloud with amazing veins of lighting moving through it around 730 or so. We missed out on that, but we did pick up a quick .25 of an inch around 0330 this morning from a quick mover.
  23. Drizzly rain here, but that's what was expected. I'm happy for all who get to cash in, especially those MA guys like @BobChill.
