    Duration is so overrated. How long does it really snow 1"/hr+ at a given locale in any given storm? Its much more about atmospheric water/dynamics/rates....stalled storms may add a few inches, but occlusion normally ensures its that "days and days of snow" crap that adds like 2-3" per day. Ideally, you get a storm go to go nuts with insane rate, stall and then get captured by another piece of energy diving in, but that is pretty exotic due to wave spacing issues.

    The ridge out west wasn't as good....I wonder if that played a role. Seemed to be a bit of energy crashing in in AK.

    The discrete S stream entity actually looked a little healthier than 06z, but the N stream was too shy.

    I won't even speculate on pecentage, but agree....less than 100% is natural.

    Both are true. I just said that I agree with you that there is overattribution, however, GW is real and it adds moisture. If you don't want the next 60" dump, then I'll take yours lol Dropped.

    The media, both general and social create so much tension because they sensationalize everything....and not just with respect to CC, either...race, everything. Not to get political...I'll zip it.

    Yea, I agree with Wolf that there is some overattribution, but I don't feel like this is an example of that...its a pretty egregious case.

    60" snow storm has absolutely zero to do with the fact that the world is comprsised of like 70% water and said water is warmer than it ever has been. The fact that warmth holds more water isn't debatable.

    What is Sydney NS climo? I'm sure they average more than Boston and are prone to larger storms, but that is still nuts. I'm just overwhelmed with emotion because on the one hand, I hate that city because I am jealous, and on the other hand it gives me weenie lust for what is possible in a warming climate.

    As much as we lament GW, storms like that are going to become more of a possibility...gonna see some insane events, even as climo overall gets a bit more hostile. These past several years are worth that IMO...I'll trade some 6" deals to see that, as those are what I live for.
