  1. Is this the first of these new extreme cold warnings for the metros? My guess is last wind chill warnings might have been January 2018?
  2. Yea the burst on the front is what I was asking about. The evening snow today seems associated with a lead shortwave
  3. Think we can get the snow band to hang on over the mountains with it? Euro and NAM have hinted at it…
  4. 12z IAD sounding shows a very dry 850 mb layer. Rest of the column is “normal” in terms of dew point depression.
  5. Scary stuff @Mrs.J! Our daughter is a similar age so I’ll keep an eye out!
  6. BWI reported 6” depth still yesterday. Got to be at least another week before it gets to <1” based on temp forecast?
  7. Rich mets walking into the LR thread
  8. There’s a very sharp trough associated with this clipper that looks like it will pass through early Saturday morning. Might be the arctic front? Guidance has snow associated with it upstream of us, very squally looking. But the mountains mostly kill it. 6z hrrr is the first run I’ve seen that gets some into the metro area. That may be worth watching.
  9. I’ll try harder next time boss. I’ll make a torch thread in July or something. Can’t miss!
  10. Notice the chart goes from #4 to #11. I missed that at first.
