Winter Storm Warning Criteria..........

Why is our 12 Warning criteria 5"+ while it is 4"+ in southern parts of the Mt. Holly zone, which includes Philly and southern NJ?

I suppose not everyone will really know the answer, but it's something to think about?

Proximity to the coast I would imagine....I dont think Philly should be included in it though.

I think it's too high for my area. It should be 4"...JMO. This would allow them to issue a watch and then switch to either an advisory or a warning without necessarily alarming people or looking foolish when we get a dusting or nothing. I know it's only an 1" but that's the way I see it.
