Deflating model runs overnight and this morning. Sucks to see the LP in a perfect location but minimal precip…

I’m not the slightest bit concerned this morning. We’re still seeing thousand mile swings between runs with the individual pieces of energy.

Interesting drive to Asheville earlier. Was 33 with some ice on trees going up Old Fort mountain before I hit the fog which was very bad near the top. As soon as I got to Ridgecrest, brilliant bright sun and the temp went up to 41. Then as soon as I got to Asheville the fog set back in.

Thumbing through the LP tracks on the ensembles and for most, you really couldn’t draw up a better track for us locally. I don’t want to jump ahead of myself but ****typically*** those lows at the strength they depict, is a western NC classic that usually dumps 4-8” with maybe some sleet mixed in. I’m cautiously optimistic.

Edit: and if that GFS OP matched more of its ensemble members, I think we would’ve had quite the clown map.

The overall tracks ready needs to be as close to the coast as possible. Not sure I buy the inland track as of now.

However, it is horse shoes and hand grenades till now cast time around here.

My early forecast-

Smokies and Balsams- 4-8 inches all snow

Asheville- 2-4"

Northern Foothills- McDowell, Burke, Caldwell- 2-4" ending with some sleet

Southern Foothills- Rutherford, Cleveland- 1-3" some sleet and ZR

Good forecast IMO
