Looks like this one is about to wrap up just in time in the RVA area..,Tomorrow is gonna be a real key day, whatever isn’t plowed is going to freeze solid tomorrow night & most likely remain for at least the rest of the work week..

00z GFS is an Eastern NC/SE VA scrape for next weekend

00z Euro has the coastal though it's not clean phase so some upper level energy gets held back and forms a secondary low just at the mouth of the Chesapeake. Interesting run. Someone will have to post maps because I'm on my phone lol

Yes this small line of snow showers has better flakes than yesterday.  ^^;   Better thermal profile for it.

12z Euro still a good hit for ENC/SE VA but the low goes OTS

I'm happy with where things are today.  If I could lock in the 12z GFS blizzard-cane I would. 

Hopefully this week's cold weather will cool the coastal waters down enough to put us in an even better position when the time comes.  I'd much rather have a howling N wind off a 32'ish degree Chesapeake Bay than the current 40'ish degree bay.

Here's the EPS Ensemble pressure centers from last nights run (06Z).  Will hopefully see the members tighten up around the coast in the next run.

Again, at least it is something to track.  And, if our friends in the Tidewater get buried, I hold no ill will as this is the Richmond Metro and Hampton Roads subforum, not just RVA.  But, if this comes to fruition like it is and they get buried, including Newport News, ldub cannot complain for two years about lack of snow.

Sure, no ill will, but jealousy for sure as this will be God knows how many times now since 2000.

 

My gut here is congrats to Tidewater once again...

 

At the end of the day I'm just happy the freezing rain didn't pan out yesterday, honestly
