Awesome!! It just started raining a short time ago. Very light. Temperature down to 41. After 3:00 your streets are going to cave. It's going to be a nasty Rush Hour for Hampton roads. Glad I'm home.

Its  lightened  up for  now. Hope  it  picks  back up

Wow, okay, I would maybe put downtown at .5"
Watching the plows circle around down here with nothing to plow.

What do you think is going on in the city? Weird micro-climate things? Urban heat island effect? I’m genuinely perplexed by how this storm seems so much weaker inside the city limits versus when I was outside of them at my job today day.

I am unsure, but maybe we held on above freezing a bit longer than others, a lot of asphalt to overcome down here.  Back at my house in Tuckahoes, car top reports suggest 3".  So, I am hoping for 5" there and maybe 3" in the city?  Hard to say as I have not been watching radar returns, trying to work but still get caught up staring out the window like when I was a kid at Skipwith Elementary.

Whatever we get, this is a great start.

Two events in early December for RVA.

Tempted to get a t-shirt that says Short Pump is a snow town for some posters in the main thread.  :P

DISCLAIMER - Knowing that they will get theirs, and as always when we get a real big one, they get even a bigger one.  No real insult, snark or regional bias intended.

ORF is saturated at 33.8F. We're going to need the low to deepen to draw down some drier air from the north so we can wet bulb down to freezing. Hopefully that corresponds to the coastal enhancement shown on the models for later this afternoon/evening.

Are the  models showing  some good enhancement?

Va. Beach was a mix, but hard to see flakes at the moment.
