  1. So suppression is the least likely scenario at this point, safe to assume?
  2. Nice to have a legit threat to follow. I won't become invested in model details until mid week at the earliest. I suspect we will see the "windshield wiper" spread.
  3. High confidence about any solution a week out is risky.
  4. I like the potential moving forward. Let's not get caught up in track details yet. Too far away.
  5. The snow lover in me wants snow, but the practical guy in me is finding positives in no snow. Either way, it is win win for me. Hope later Jan and Feb deliver, but if not, I will be ok with it. I never used to feel that way with lack of snow. I am getting older for sure.
  6. 7 inches here in only 3 hours and still wooly mammothing.
  7. Wow, what an over achiever this snow storm! 7 nches here and still wooly mammothing out there! I thought we would only get half of this.
  8. Well then we hope for the best for a front end thump
  9. But isn't this synoptically different than the usual wrap around prediction scenarios?
  10. Wow, hard to believe we are back at this again with snow maps and all.. Feels like we just did this yesterday!
  11. I think tempering expectations is smart at this time given the time of year and borderline temps.
  12. Cutters are common in Autumn. I agree about the importance of a continuing stormy pattern heading into mid to late autumn Eventually the cold will mix in and we get our snows with more coastals.
  13. With an east based modiki weak El Nino, if I am not mistaken to be projected, this winter upcoming should be interesting around these parts. But I am ready for anything, really. Just never know anymore despite historical analogues and autumn trends. Rapid snow buildup in Canada is intriguing. How it flipped from tropical warmth for such a long period to cool and crisp, almost like a switch. North American weather fluctuations never cease to fascinate, especially this time of year.
  14. Seasonable fall weather is a very nice change. Guidance looks to continue that with no extreme warmth for the medium range.
  15. Does such a wet pattern from summer into fall have any correlation with any particular winter pattern with high soil moisture in place?
  16. Holy cow, the flooding rains in northern Dutchess this morning! Parts of 9G were almost impassable and I think they closed part of that road after I drove through some pretty scary waters, which I shouldn't have done. Most have received 1-3 inches of rain in a few hours with those training downpours.
  17. I am back. Man it is dry out there, though I am happy to be mowing less. Tuesday looks juicy so that will be a relief.
  18. Macroburst confirmed in Southern Dutchess, Wappingers to Fishkill area with winds between 85-105
  19. Truly a historic outbreak for these parts yesterday. Thank goodness more people didn't get injured or killed. I am pained by those who did. Damn it, I hope we don't have any more of these monsters the rest of the year.
  20. Sucks to hear all the damage. Stay safe everyone. This is why I hate severe in the spring and summer.
