It is fading a bit, just had a sprinkle here, blue sky overhead but clouds otherwise. Looks like another hour or so of shower chances then hopefully some sun after that.
Lol, I guess. Wound up with 0.43" of unexpected rain here, with some lightning and thunder thrown in, so it was a good alternative. Good smelling rain too.
So our grass planting ran a little late this year for a few reasons, and we got out the frost blankets. This is an area that we seeded 2 weeks ago yesterday, which had minimal grass on it.
I had already taken up the blanket on the near side of the tree when I took the first pic, and the second one is afterward. We call it the jiffy pop effect, lol.
It was a pretty stormy late afternoon and early evening here as well. Winds were strong, lost power briefly a couple of times, and so far 1.30" of rain. Quieted down a good bit now. Radar looks pretty cool:
Not being well versed in painters, I had to look him up. I probably saw him a couple of times on PBS back in the day, seems he was a good and inspiring teacher.
There was a cloud a few minutes before that image that was shaped exactly like a donut, but it morphed before I got a pic.
Been seeing a fair amount of lightning off to the south and southwest. Winds starting to pick up. Getting pretty stormy. Interesting way to start off this event!
Hearing a boatload of walnuts falling, I suspect by Wednesday they'll be just about all down. Bumper crop this year, and taking their time dropping.
Yeah, I read the warning for northern Delaware, and southwest Delco is included, although my point and click doesn't have a warning (yet).
Just finished mowing the back, just in time it looks like (plus it's dark now, lol).
Eta, got the warning.
That second batch looked vigorous for a bit, but it started dissipating before it got here. Received about 0.10" total from both showers. Sun is coming back out, but no rainbow this time.
Thanks, I appreciate that. I'm hoping the warm weather hangs on for another 10 days or so, once it turns it's pretty much game over at this time of year. One year I had frost blankets with heaters underneath (don't tell anyone lol), don't really want to repeat that experience.
It was mentioned in Mt. Holly's forecast discussion, but the meso models didn't nail the details so well. Got 1.15" here, plenty of thunder and lightning along with the sound of some grass seed getting washed down a hill, lol.
