  1. What's the equivalent in snow for Richie Ashburn hitting the same fan twice (with 2 separate foul balls) in the same at bat? I think most Phillies fans know that story even if it is from 1957. Pretty funny, since she survived it. They were carrying her away on a stretcher when he hit her the second time (there was a game delay while they attended to her after the 1st one). Eta - here's a possibility, Feb. 5th and 9th, 2010?
  2. It says "mainly on grassy surfaces" - your favorite kind!
  3. Still in the market for snow for the next 2 months or so, but as someone who spends a lot of time outside, I am enjoying this spring preview right now. Hit the firewood lotto a couple of weeks ago, a neighbor behind the woods out back had some trees taken down and I arranged for the tree people to leave some behind, including oak, hotdiggitydog! A little disturbing that a lot of oaks seem to be biting the dust though.
  4. That's the @hazwoper nightmare storm. Don't rub it in!
  5. Nah just plan your surf fishing trips accordingly. And post vids of course!
  6. Well to be accurate, Philly did get 11.4" of "white rain" in that storm!
  7. It's smaller but still decent. Reinforcements would be nice. Maybe something will materialize Monday night, otherwise the next week looks a bit desert-dry for snow right now. Kind of warmish even, after today.
  8. Had a few flakes here a little while ago. 27F currently.
  9. Got a thin glaze on the car, and about 3 sleet pellets. 30F and cloudy currently.
  10. 39 and fog here. The weather will be what it will be and we'll deal with it, I imagine. Debating whether to cover the snow pile tomorrow, lol. Probably should have done it today, the warm fog is eating it and the snowpack in general. Still mostly total coverage, but I'm pretty sure there won't be any left (snow pack) by Friday morning.
  11. Yeah the whole setup is kind of unusual. Normally it's warm rain, then cold air coming in and rain changing to snow with maybe some sleet along the way. We usually get freezing rain from warm air coming in over antecedent cold air. Then there's the issue of how much precip will be left once the cold air gets here (for SEPA anyway). We should have a better idea of the details and timing by tomorrow afternoon.
  12. If the roads were icy that could be an option.
  13. Dense freezing fog here, temp @ 27F, visibility about 500 ft. Pretty cool, looks like very heavy snow at first glance, snow on the ground helps that effect. Gotta be some slickness on roads it would seem.
  14. Found this from March 2015 - slightly different but rain changing to snow with a frontal passage, wound up with 6 - 8" or more area wide. Obs thread was a fun read. Lots of hand wringing waiting for the change over, although not a lot of sleet.
  15. Got 4.2" here from the coastal and with the 1.9" from Friday adds up to 6.1" total. Made it to 8F early this morning, a new low for the season. Got that squeaky sound when you walk on the snow in cold weather, been a while for that. A beautiful morning outside, if a little brisk, lol. Here is the updated snow pile, looks pretty happy!
  16. Haha, I just looked at the 12z GFS, not a lot of excitement there, but it will change.
  17. You would think that the wind has gotta knock the ratios down as well.
  18. Haven't measured yet, looks like 4 or 4.5 or so for the coastal round, but what I want to say is, this is awesome! Heart of winter type stuff, and I'm loving it!
  19. Checked my look in the mirror this morning - man, I need some sleep, lol.
  20. Lol, can't see much, it's snowing pretty well at the moment!
  21. What a thing of beauty! Currently 28F with moderate snow. Measured 1.6" of new (coastal) snow at 1 am, total including pre-coastal of 3.5". Also getting almost windy at times. Nice outside shovelling at 1 am with snow hitting you in the face...doesnt get much better!
