  1. Picked up 0.43" of rain earlier today, 4.16" for the month. Not a bad day out at all.
  2. Severe t'storm warning here, mainly heavy rain at the moment, with some thunder and lightning. 67F currently.
  3. Yeah I put on a sweatshirt last night, although I'm guessing that down south here I'll still be in shorts and tee shirts come mid September. But I wouldn't turn down cool weather then either.
  4. Got 1.25" here in multiple rounds early this morning, including a nice thunderclap that woke us up around 5 am. Gets the rainfall total up to 2.73" since last Tuesday, and 3.48" for the month. Family member is happy! 66F currently.
  5. Looking at the mesoscale models and Mt. Holly's forecast discussion, looks like maybe some early morning action, then a lull until late in the pm, so you might be okay. Sounds like it will get pretty muggy too.
  6. Hey Mike, I enjoyed reading your near term forecast discussion just now, and I noticed last night and again tonight this new guy, RCM. And it dawned on me, that's gotta be Raymond C. Martin. Hot dang Ray, welcome back again! I realize I'm out on a limb here and maybe my extrapolation is off, but nah, lol.
  7. Wound up with 1.23" overnight, and with the 0.25 from Tuesday night adds up to, wait for it, 1.48" this week. Plant life is happy!
  8. Have the tail end of it moving through here now, lots of thunder and lightning and about a half inch of rain in 20 minutes, not too much wind though. Overnight total here so far is 1.05", a nice soaker! Currently 70F.
  9. Been nice and showery here with some cloud lightning, including one that was right overhead and very bright, with the long rolling thunder that rumbles off into the distance. So far about 0.20" for this evening. Nice out (for sitting on the porch)!
  10. Should be a good evening for fireflies, got a quarter inch of rain last night, hoping for another 3/4" or so later on. Sounds like it could be interesting after midnight.
  11. For every 100 you receive, you'll get a used range ball!
  12. Wow, warming up fast there! Made it down to 53F here as well, currently 63, dp 48. The weekend was about as nice as you could ask for, for doing stuff outside.
  13. Just picked up a quarter, then a half inch in 2 successive showers, for 3/4" total. Very refreshing! Not a whole lot of lightning or wind, but the rain is welcome. Can hold off a few more days from getting the hoses etc. out, family member style.
  14. It would seem that someone's getting a boatload of rain, given its orientation and slow movement.
  15. I see the backside of the thunderhead, pretty impressive looking.
  16. Made it to 87F here, a little warmer than I expected. Been feeling a little breeze out of the general NE direction, which helped earlier, but now it feels muggy, with the DP at 71. Current temp is 83F. Heard some thunder crumpling in the distance, looked at the radar and it would seem to be coming from that storm up around Norristown. Must have some oomph, for all the thunder.
  17. No meteor shower here to speak of, maybe due to the high clouds, although I still see some stars. But they were supposed to be faint anyway, so. I do have a stiff neck now though, lol.
  18. There's a little haze here, but you can see stars overhead. After your post I looked at the satellite and those clouds are racing south. What the heck, lol. We'll see. Meanwhile the lightning bugs are ramping up here thanks to the warmer weather. Saw a few starting Friday night, and a definite uptick tonight.
  19. We were splitting wood and just sat sown for a kettle fire, one of the last of the season, and I looked at the radar. I said to my wife maybe it's virga, hardyharhar. Hopefully we'll get an hour or two in before the reds get here, if it holds together. Getting a few drops now and then currently. Glow worms are out tonight, as they were last night.
  20. Cool - remind us Monday evening please! Meanwhile, heavy drizzle here for about the last 90 minutes. Pretty wet out.
  21. Nice! Do you get the pines smell on days with a NW wind? That's the first thing I noticed when we got off the plane in Bangor (a few years ago). It's beautiful up there.
