  1. Hard to tell what we'll get here, lotta morphing going on as the storms approach. Hearing some thunder.
  2. Now that it's August it seems reasonable to look for tropical activity, however there is nada, and nothing for the next 5 days. Two years ago tomorrow we had Isaias, which gave us a boatload of rain (6" here). Then 3 days later we had another 6" here in 40 minutes, in a thunderstorm (a 1000 year rainfall rate according to some). Anyway looking at this map is like watching paint dry.
  3. Received 0.12" of rain last night while no one was looking, including me (around 2:30 am). Brings the August total to 0.39" so far.
  4. Got 0.25" before midnight last night, making the total for July 3.44". Also got 0.27" after midnight to start August.
  5. Now you can just go to Wawa, lol. I got 2 warnings from a Maryland state trooper once, in part as a result of my wife and I picking up some Reese's and a Kit Kat bar at a rest stop. It's a long (but funny) story.
  6. Yeah they've been laying down in the grass spread eagled to get some extra cooling.
  7. Wound up with 0.72" of beautiful rain, over about 20 minutes, so most of it had a chance to be soaked up. Good stuff!
  8. Pretty cool clouds looking NW towards the warned storm. Hearing some thunder in the distance.
  9. I'm hopeful for something tonight - Mt. Holly forecast discussion mentioned possibilities, and the nams and hrrr showed it as well. And lookie there, some stuff popping up. Fingers crossed!
  10. We put a thermometer in our attic late last week - Saturday it read 130°, lol. So we put an exhaust fan in and had it running by last night. Smelled like attic outside a couple of times today.
  11. Pretty cool looking sky just now (looking NW):
  12. Thanks. Good luck to you! Now you can be Hurricane Steve (if you're close enough to the coast).
  13. Got 0.14" here, monthly total is 2.47". Currently 81F and dp of 75. Pretty humid but it does feel better with it cooled off a bit.
  14. Katydids are just starting up for the evening here, they've been pretty vocal (with their legs) for the last week plus. Crickets are partying too, I mean it is Saturday night. Not much in the way of cicadas here either, not sure if the hundreds of cicada killers we have in our front yard have anything to do with it.
  15. 0.18" here yesterday afternoon and evening, total for July so far is 2.33". Looks like dog days of summer for this coming week.
  16. Nice. Hope you get some yellows or better, but a ground wetter is refreshing.
  17. It was too many drops to count! Currently 73F here with dp a more comfortable 66.
  18. Been getting some light showers here, enough to wet things down and make the air smell good. Probably about 0.05" or so.
  19. Hearing a katydid outside here, seems a little early. Also saw a boatload of cicada killers today, may be why I'm not hearing that many locusts?
  20. The color here was pretty cool - looking forward to your pics! Had about 35 drops of rain here.
  21. Are you thinking of annual ryegrass? Most consider annual blue grass a weed, if he wants some he's welcome to come dig mine up, lol. Not to be confused with Kentucky bluegrass of course.
  22. I was going to say Saturday looked like a good day for mowing, but not anymore. Sunday and Monday look pretty awesome though.
  23. Been fortunate down here, got 1.25" overnight and early this morning, 1.93" for July so far.
