  1. Any storm totals from Jacksonville?? It looks like it’s about to end there shortly. The radar last night looked like a good clobbering from Jacksonville to New Bern. Interesting to see what they measure.
  2. I honestly think they don’t get 2” near the Va/Nc border. We may see some flurries here in RIC, but even that’s not a given.
  3. I believe RIC just got NAM’d….. could it be a trend??
  4. RIC went from 1.9” at 18z to 8.9” at 00z on the gfs. Not saying it’s correct but the precipitation field did expanded northward.
  5. I remember years ago Bernier said, what happens in Nashville, will happen in Richmond. I’ve always remembered him saying that.
  6. Looks like the Blue Norther of 2021. Texas froze and If I remember correctly, The East never got “cold” during that outbreak.
  7. The upcoming Xmas Warmth is reminiscent of December 2015. 70degree temps in central Va for numerous days. Dominant WAR….Then the following month January 23rd, we received 18” from Winter Storm “Jonas”. So there’s always hope!
  8. Varina,Va (5 miles SE of RIC) 2.1” 12/5 5.0” 12/8 0.10” Dusting 12/14 7.2” Total (almost at RIC yearly average of 8.8”.) .25 1/23 3” 1/25 followed by .5” ice. Total 10.5”
  9. Down here near RIC…. Where’s this deluge we were supposed to be getting? Only a couple light showers today. Road pavement still dry.
  10. Seen a lot of sarcastic comments this week from the Nova folks on these boards, about Richmond….. Glad to see Hampton area cash in while Nova got scraps. Doesn’t happen very often. I would say this was a win from Richmond to VB.
  11. Fixed it. 4.5” in Varina. (Eastern henrico) looking at the radar, thinking we’ll hit 5”.
  12. Over 4” in Varina now. Coming down and heading towards 5”. Pics have too many kb to post. Hopefully I’ll figure it out.
  13. Easily 3” in Varina (eastern henrico) . Coming down like Lard.. Hope to make 4”.
  14. Yeah. I don’t see RIC getting much more than 4-5” max. Maybe if we get under some banding, but I have my doubts. Hope I’m wrong.
  15. If this is based on 10:1 ratios, I could see RIC max at 7”. More SE of the city.
  16. Bernier came to my 5th grade class back in 1985. He was fairly new to the area. That was 40 years ago, and still going strong!
  17. Going back to the Dec2018 storm, I specifically remember the NAM nailed that storm before all other models, and DT jumped on it early. So there’s that…..
