Shameless vacation question here. Will I have a decent week next week in North Conway?

Yes… it’s definitely plausible… I just wouldn’t count on it. As usual, could be some surprises. I mean, we could still use the rain around here… good for the wells

It’s going to be very hard, in the United States especially, to return to mask mandates and covid restrictions. The toothpaste is out of the tube at this point, and it’s going to be very hard to put it back in. Like I said a few days ago, maybe Australia and Canada can do that crap and get a good amount of buy in, but it won’t be happening here. Begging people to get the vaccine and then slamming restrictions back on come the fall after telling people they can return to normal with a vaccine is a horrible look.

Pretty much. I find it incredibly hard to believe there will be a reintroduction of restrictions come fall and winter with the vaccination rates here.

Sucks to live in those states with low vaccination rates I guess. Covid is effectively over in MA and the northeast as a whole. See you for the next pandemic.

CT electrical infrastructure:

We have a kayaking trip on the Saco planned for next week. I’ve heard horror stories of people having to wait and drag kayaks and canoes through water that’s 2” deep… guessing this will help that

The Israel stuff is kind of misleading when you read about it. Again, it’s largely involving people who aren’t vaccinated. And like has been said all along, the breakthrough infections with people who are vaccinated are generally mild or asymptomatic. The vaccines are still incredibly effective at preventing severe disease. There is going to be 0 appetite for any new restrictions in the US if the vaccines are still very effective at preventing disease. Countries like Australia etc etc may be able to get away with selling people that garbage, but it won’t happen here.
