  1. It’s 100% a defense mechanism. Guarding against less desirable outcomes
  2. How did you figure out it was leaking? I go to where the pipe is outside on the house occasionally to check it and make sure I don’t smell the “rotten egg” smell. Not sure that would even be what I’m looking for though
  3. I mean, just because people lived with it before doesn’t mean we should keep doing it lol. And that article addresses setting up the piping, but nowhere does it show how the fan will be setup. If I need to have something done, I’ll just hire a company that specializes in it. It’s not a 10k job, so I’d rather pay some one and have it done right. It did rain during the time period I performed the test. And I also tested in the room with exposed cement floors and the sump pit, so I’m cautiously optimistic that was the highest area in the house. More testing will confirm. I’d probably let it go, but my parents live in an in law Down there, so I need to address it.
  4. I’ve been told to test once a month for the next 3 months and see what the levels look like. A guy I work with did the 3 month sample and all 3 were in the neighborhood of 3.5-4, so he decided to put in a mitigation system. Im kind of just learning about it, but it’s pretty crazy how many houses probably have action level radon and how few people test for it/ have systems. I was reading that upwards of 35% of homes could use radon mitigation and far less than 1% of those actually have it.
  5. It looks like they may be able to remediate from the existing sump pit? We are going to do another more extensive round of testing to see what the results are before we make any decisions. I did this test in the utility room on the ground floor with the sump pit and exposed French drain, so hopefully that was the worst area.
  6. Anyone ever Radon test their home? We got results and it’s 2.9
  7. All the first round QBs from last year have blown this year. trevor Lawrence was considered the most “can’t miss” generational prospect since Andrew luck and he has been atrocious this year, especially in crunch time
  8. We get a surprising amount of kids for living in a fringe area of both towns . Also, those pukwudgies down candy like you read about
  9. Bought it from Amazon through Mars candy. It was significantly cheaper than buying it at target or something
  10. Candy just came in for tomorrow. 365 piece bag. We get a crap ton of kids
  11. That shed looks like it needs some work. A new roof at least. Should be your next project, unless you want mice eating through your $600 backpack blower
  12. My wife and I have a collection of (presumably) Native American arrowheads passed down from her grandfather. We must have two dozen of them, very cool stuff. They were collected at an area called the “turkey farm” which is off of bay road on the Norton/easton line. Part of the hockomock If I had any ambition I’m sure I could find some neat stuff hiking behind my house. A lot of that land is untouched and hard to access, so not many people have passed through I’d assume.
  13. We embrace it. Im right on the front lines. Nothing between me and the vast Hockomock swamp. If someone’s going to see something, it’s me. When I catch a 20 foot bird on my ring camera, I’ll post.
  14. Boxing day was a good storm here. Must have had a foot and a half or so.
  15. Yeah, short term is fine but we still need more rain.
  16. So is there actual border patrol up there? It looks like you can just drive right into Canada and not even know it lol
  17. Must be different for various departments. I’m also a state employee and have heard no talk of a mandatory booster by 12/1. Im assuming it different for Ray because he is dealing with a vulnerable clientele
  18. I can’t imagine loving snow so much, and sleeping through all time events or pre blizzard model runs. I mean, you’d think you’d make an exception a few times a year?
  19. Ray loves this distribution for scooter, myself, and the cranberry bogs
  20. … that was a good one. Just looked at Kevin’s site and I had 6” of absolute mashed potatoes. I was juuuuuussssttt far enough away from the water, as is often the case here. Id love to see a breakdown from about my area up through like Sharon. I get snow averages rise pretty steadily through like easton, Foxboro, Mansfield, up to Sharon relative to the real distance.
  21. To be fair, it was really only a monster in a small corridor from like TAN to Weymouth. An all timer in a small area, nice storm elsewhere
  22. I’m one to talk (lol) but I think the reverse psychology deal is the preferred method now. Poo poo and find the flaws so you can either claim you were right when a threat flames out or be wrong and get a lot of snow. It’s a no lose strategy. Hubbdave is the master at this. He lives in probably the best snow spot in all of SNE and legitimately acts stunned when it snows . All in good fun of course Dave
  23. That wasn’t a bad event around here. Got skis for Christmas and was able to try them out in the yard lol
